32WIPERS STALKWindscreen wipersWiping isonly activewhenthe ignition keyis in the RUNNING position.The stalkhas five different positions:Wipers off.Intermittent wiping: 1 notch downwards.In this position, by turningthe ring, four speeds can be selected:- veryslow intermittent,- slow intermittent,- intermittent,- fast intermittent.Slow continuous wiping: 2 notchesdownwards.Fast continuous wiping: 3 notches downwards.Single wipe, pull the control towards thesteering wheel.Automatic wiping with rain detectorIf yourvehicle is fitted with this equipment,the wiping speed isadapted automatically to the intensity of the rainfall.Automatic wiping: 1 notch downwards.This is confirmed by one wipe. Must bereactivated each time the ignition is switched on.In this position, the sensitivity of the rainsensor can be increased byturning the ring.Do not cover the rainsensor, located at thetopcentreof the windscreen.When washing the vehicle, switch off the ignition or deactivatethe automatic wiping.Good practiceCheck that the windscreen wiper bladescan operate freelywhen usingthewipers in icy weather.Use the sill, in the lower front panel, to remove anyaccumulation of snow at the base of thewindscreen andon the blades.Tochangethe blades, refer to the"Changing a wiper blade" section of chapter 8.Wash-wipe and headlamp washPull thestalktowards you, the wash-wipe isaccompanied by a timed sweepof thewipers.If your vehicle is fitted with this function, the headlamp wash islinked with the wash-wipe, it is triggered if the dipped headlampsare on.To top up the levels, refer to the "Levels" section of chapter 7.Steering wheel controls
