31AUTOMATIC LIGHTINGIf your vehicle is fittedwith thisfunction, the side lightsand dipped headlamps areswitched on automatically if the light is poor,except infog.Theyare also switched on if continuousoperation of the windscreen wipers isdetected.Theyare switched off when the light returnsto a sufficient level or after the windscreen wipers are switched off.Do not cover the brightnesssensor at the top centre of the windscreen.Thisfunction isnot compatible with the daytime lights equipment.ActivationTurn the ring to this position.The lights are switched off automatically whenthe ignition is switched off.A), the side lightsand dipped headlampsremain on for the selected duration (whenleaving a car park for example).Ignition offor key in the STOP position.Within2 minutesafter switching off theengine, positionthe ignition key in theSTOPpositionor remove it.Pull the lightsstalk towards thesteering wheel.The indicator lightcomes on on the instrument panel.Each action on the lights stalk,pulled towards the steering wheel, prolongs the follow me home lighting by 30 seconds up to approximately 3 minutes. An indicator light on the displayindicates the adjustmentposition selected (0, 1, 2, 3).SIDE/PARKING LIGHTSThissystem enables you to leavethe side lights on when parked; with the ignitionoff, keyinthe PARK position or keyremoved.Press this control turning the key one notch inthe opposite direction to starting at the same time.
