Front airbagsDo not drive holding the steering wheel byits spokes or resting your hands on the centrepart of the wheel.Passengers must not place their feet on thedashboard.Do not smoke as deployment of the airbagscan cause burns or the risk of injury from acigarette or pipe.Never remove or pierce the steering wheel orhit it violently.Do not fix or attach anything to the steeringwheel or dashboard, as this could causeinjuries when the airbags are deployed.Lateral airbagsUse only approved seat covers compatiblewith the deployment of these airbags. Forinformation on the range of seat coverssuitable for your vehicle, contact a PEUGEOTdealer.Do not fix or attach anything to the seatbackrests (e.g. clothing) as this could causeinjuries to the chest or arm when the airbag isdeployed.Do not sit with the upper part of the body anynearer to the door than necessary.The vehicle's front door panels include sideimpact sensors.A damaged door or any unauthorised orincorrectly executed work (modification orrepair) on the front doors or their interiortrim could compromise the operation of thesesensors - risk of malfunction of the lateralairbags! Refer to thelegislation in force in your country.For maximum safety, please observe thefollowing recommendations:– In accordance with European regulations,all children under the age of 12 years oldor less than 1.5 metres tall must travel inapproved child seats suited to their sizeor weight, on seats fitted with a seat belt orISOFIX mountings.– Statistically, the safest seats in your vehiclefor carrying children are the rear seats.– Children ageing less than 15 monthsmust travel in the "rearward facing"position, whether in the front or rear of thevehicle.It is recommended that children travel onthe rear seats of the vehicle:– "rearward facing" up to the age of 3 yearsold.– "forward facing" over the age of 3 yearsold.Make sure that the seat belt is correctlypositioned and tightened.For child seats with a support leg, ensure thatthe support leg is in firm and steady contactwith the floor.Safety955
An incorrectly installed child seat in avehicle compromises the child's safety inthe event of an accident.Ensure that there is no seat belt or seat beltbuckle under the child seat, as this coulddestabilise it.Remember to fasten the seat belts or thechild seat harness keeping the slack relativeto the child's body to a minimum, even forshort journeys.When installing a child seat using the seatbelt, ensure that the seat belt is tightenedcorrectly on the child seat and that it securesthe child seat firmly on the vehicle seat. Ifthe passenger seat is adjustable, move itforwards if necessary.Remove the head restraint beforeinstalling a child seat with a backrest ona passenger seat.Ensure that the head restraint is stored orattached securely to prevent it from beingthrown around the vehicle in the event ofsharp braking. Refit the head restraint oncethe child seat has been removed.Installing a booster seatThe chest part of the seat belt must bepositioned on the child's shoulder withouttouching the neck.Ensure that the lap part of the seat beltpasses correctly over the child's thighs.Use a booster seat with a backrest, equippedwith a belt guide at shoulder level.Additional protectionsTo prevent accidental opening of the doorsand rear windows, use the "Child lock".Take care not to open the rear windows bymore than one third.To protect young children from the sun's rays,fit side blinds on the rear windows.As a safety measure, do not leave:– A child alone and unsupervised inside avehicle.– A child or an animal in a vehicle which isexposed to the sun, with the windows closed.– The keys within reach of children inside thevehicle.Child seat at the rearForward-facing or rearward-facingMove the vehicle's front seat forward andstraighten the backrest so that the legs of thechild in the forward-facing or rearward-facingchild seat itself do not touch the vehicle'sfront seat.Check that the backrest of the forward-facingchild seat is as close as possible to thebackrest of the vehicle's rear seat, andideally in contact with it.Centre rear seatA child seat with a support leg must never beinstalled on the centre rear passenger seat.Child seat at the frontAdjust the front passenger seat to thehighest and fully back longitudinalposition, with the backrest straightened.Forward-facingYou must leave the front passenger airbagactive.Rearward-facingThe front passenger airbag must bedeactivated before installing a rearward-facing child seat.
