Peugeot 5008 2024- 2025 Owner's Manual Practical information Electrified vehicles - General recommendations

Turn the filler cap to the left, remove itand place it on its support on the filler flap(depending on version).Insert the filler nozzle and push it in as far aspossible before starting to refuel (to minimisethe risk of splashing).Fill the tank.Do not continue after the nozzle’s thirdcutout. Doing so may cause malfunctions.Put the filler cap back in place and turn it tothe right (depending on version).Push the fuel filler flap to close it.The vehicle is fitted with a catalytic converter, which helps to reduce the level of harmfulemissions in the exhaust gases. For petrol engines, you must use unleadedfuel. The filler neck is narrower, allowing onlyunleaded petrol nozzles to be inserted. If you have put in the wrong fuel forthe vehicle, you must have the fuel tankdrained and filled with the correct fuelbefore starting the engine.Electrified vehicles- GeneralrecommendationsThese recommendations and generalinformation concern electrified vehicles of thetype: hybrid, rechargeable hybrid and electric.High voltage systemHigh voltage system voltage is dangerousand can cause burns or other injuries oreven fatal electric shock.Since damage to high voltage components isnot visible, PEUGEOT recommends that you:– Never touch the components, damagedor not, and never let your jewelry or othermetallic objects come into contact with thesecomponents.– Never work on the high voltage cables(purple or orange) or on any other highvoltage component marked with the Electricrisk label. Any intervention on the highvoltage system must be carried out byqualified persons in workshops qualified andapproved to carry out this type of work.– Never damage, modify or remove thehigh voltage cables (purple or orange) ordisconnect them from the high voltagenetwork.– Never open, modify or remove the cover ofthe traction battery.– Never work with cutting and forming tools orheat sources near high voltage componentsand cables.Practical information170In case of low level of fluid in the coolingtank, the refilling shall only be performed ina qualified and trained workshop to verify thatthe leakage is not in the traction battery.Any intervention on the high voltage systemmust be carried out by qualified persons inworkshops qualified and approved to carryout this type of work.Damage to the vehicle or the traction batterycould result in the leakage of toxic gases orfluids either immediately or later. PEUGEOTrecommends that you:– Always inform the fire and emergencyservices in the event of an incident, warningthat the vehicle is equipped with a tractionbattery.– Never touch the liquids leaking from thetraction battery.– Do not inhale the gases emitted by thetraction battery which are toxic.– Move away from the vehicle in the event ofincident or accident, the gases emitted beingflammable and could cause a fire.
Traction batteryTraction battery overheatingIf the following warning lampsappear, accompanied by thedisplay of a message and anaudible signal, it is required to:Stop the vehicle as soon as possible in thebest conditions of safety.Switch off the ignition.Evacuate the vehicle as quickly as possibleand move to a safe distance.Call the fire department and/or theemergency services and tell them that thevehicle is an electric one.Danger of death / Risk of serious injuryA chain reaction can occur up to a tractionbattery fire.In the event of damage to the tractionbatteryIt is strictly prohibited to work on the vehicleyourself.Do not touch liquids coming from the battery, and in the event of skin contact with theseproducts, wash abundantly with water andcontact a doctor as soon as possible.Contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualifiedworkshop to have the system checked.Disposal of the traction batteryThe traction battery is designed for the life of thevehicle if the recommendations of PEUGEOTare followed. If it becomes necessary to replace the battery, contact the PEUGEOT dealer for instructions onits disposal. Improper disposal carries the risk ofsevere burns, electric shock, and damage to theenvironment. In accordance with regulations, PEUGEOTensures a second life or recycling of thiscomponent in collaboration with qualifiedoperators.Hybrid systemElectrical systemFor more information, refer tothe General recommendations onelectrified vehicles. The electrical circuit of the hybrid system isidentified by purple cables and its componentsare marked with this symbol:The hybrid powertrain uses a voltage of 48V. This system may be hot both when theignition is on and after switching it off.Comply with the warning messages shown onthe labels. In the event of an accident with anairbag deploymentThe traction battery is automaticallydisconnected from the electrical circuit toprevent the initiation of short circuits and/orfires.In the event of an impact to the vehicle’sunderbodyIn these situations, the electrical circuit or thetraction battery can be seriously damaged.Stop as soon as it is safe to do so and switchoff the ignition.Move away from the vehicle.Contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualifiedworkshop.High-pressure washingTo avoid damaging the electricalcomponents, it is expressly prohibited touse high-pressure washing in the enginecompartment or under the body.Do not use a pressure greater than 80 barwhen washing the bodywork.Traction batteryThe 48 V Li-ion (Lithium-ion) traction batterystores the electrical energy needed to propel thevehicle. The traction battery is automatically charged toensure that the charge level is always around50% of the maximum level, in order to fullyexploit the hybrid functionality and, at the sametime, always have some capacity available forthe energy recovery operation. It is located under the front left seat.Practical information1717
