With the ring of the lighting control stalk inthe "AUTO" position and the function activatedon the touch screen, this system automaticallyswitches between dipped and main beamheadlamps, according to lighting and trafficconditions, using a camera located at the top ofthe windscreen. This system is a driving aid.The driver remains responsible for thevehicle's lighting, its correct use in theprevailing light, visibility and traffic conditions, and for compliance with driving and vehicleregulations. The system becomes operational whenthe vehicle exceeds 28 mph (45 km/h).When the speed falls below 22 mph (35km/h), the system is no longer operational.Activation/DeactivationIt is configured in the Settings > Ve-hicle touch screen application. The state of the system is stored when theignition is switched off. When the system detects thick fog, ittemporarily deactivates the function.OperationIf the ambient light level is very low and trafficconditions permit:–The main beam head-lamps come on automat-ically. These indicatorlamps light up on the in-strument panel. If the ambient light level is sufficient and/or thetraffic conditions do not allow the main beamheadlamps to be lit:–The dipped beam head-lamps remain lit. These in-dicator lamps light up onthe instrument panel. The function is deactivated if the foglamps areswitched on.When the foglamps are switched off, the functionis automatically reactivated. This indicator lamp goes out whenthe function is deactivated.PauseIf the situation requires a change of headlampbeam, the driver can take over at any time.Switch the headlamps manually betweendipped and main beam to pause the function. If the "AUTO" and "Dipped beam" indicatorlamps were on, the system changes to mainbeam. If the "AUTO" and "Main beam" indicator lampswere on, the system changes to dipped beam.To reactivate the function, once again switchthe headlamps manually between dipped andmain beam.MalfunctionIf a malfunction occurs with the sys-tem or the camera, this warning lamplights up on the instrument panel, ac-companied by an audible signal anda message.Lighting and visibility74Automatic headlampdippingFor more information, refer tothe General recommendations forautomatic lighting systems.
