Peugeot 5008 2024- 2025 Owner's Manual Lighting and visibility Adaptive Frontlight System

This function has several lighting modes, specificto each driving situation. The intensity and direction of the mainheadlamps and the modules vary so as toincrease or reduce the range of the lighting.Themodules tilt so as to expand and direct the lightbeam to increase or decrease the lighting up ofthe sides of the road. The function shifts the lightbeam to the sides of the headlamp to ensurebetter illumination in curves. This function is a driving aid which cannot,in any circumstances, replace the need forvigilance on the part of the driver who mustcontinually adapt the driving of the vehicle tothe visibility and traffic conditions.Activation/DeactivationPlace the ring of the lighting control stalk inthe “AUTO” position. It is configured in the Settings > Ve-hicle touch screen application.Operation"Town" modeThe width of the beam is increased to betterdistinguish hazards on the side of the road(pedestrians, intersections).By default, the function starts in "Country" mode. After a few seconds, the function switches to"Town" mode as long as the speed is below 19mph (30 km/h).This mode is deactivated after a few secondsabove 31 mph (50 km/h)."Country" modeThis lighting provides a higher light beam, anincreased intensity of the headlamps and adecreased intensity of the modules. This mode is active as long as the rear foglampsare switched off and/or the front wipers areactivated for less than 2 minutes.Between 19 mph (30 km/h) and 43 mph (70km/h), with the rear foglamps off and if thefront wipers activated for more than 2 minutescontinuously, the function switches to "Badweather" mode."Bad weather" modeThe beam is widened. The power of the modulesis increased to enable the driver to see the roadmarkings more easily, whilst the intensity of themain headlamps is reduced so as to improve thedriver’s vision (taking reflections caused by a wetroad into account).Between 19 mph (30 km/h) and 43 mph (70km/h), with the rear foglamps off, front wipersactivated for many minutes continuously, thefunction switches to "Country" mode."Foggy" modeLighting and visibility754Adaptive FrontlightSystemAvailable only on versions equipped withPeugeot Pixel LED headlamps.Have it checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or aqualified workshop.
km/h), the function switches to "Motorway" modeeven if the rear foglamps are activated."Motorway" modeAt any time, this lighting mode can be triggeredby the Automatic headlamp dipping functionindependent of the Adaptive Frontlight Systemfunction. This mode automatically adapts to the speedand angle of the steering wheel.Beyond 55 mph (90 km/h), the power and rangeof the lighting is maximised to best illuminate thelength and width of the roadway."Boost motorway" modeAt any time, this lighting mode can be triggeredby the Automatic headlamp dipping functionindependent of the Adaptive Frontlight Systemfunction. This mode automatically adapts to the speedand angle of the steering wheel.Beyond 70 mph (110 km/h), the power andrange of the lighting is maximised to bestilluminate the length and width of the roadway.Static bending lightingIn a bend situation, the light beam provides anadditional illumination of the road to the right orleft when the vehicle speed is 43 mph (70 km/h)or less. The system is triggered by curve radiusthresholds and vehicle speed. The phases of increasing and decreasing lightintensity are carried out gradually.Digital bending lightingIn a bend situation, the light beam moves aroundthe curve to match the main direction of thedriver's eyes, regardless of the vehicle speedand the bend radius. The lateral intensities of the low beam areshifted in the appropriate direction of the curve. The system activates the filled pixel elements toincrease/extend the light beam area.Peugeot Pixel LEDFor more information, refer tothe General recommendations forautomatic lighting systems. The Peugeot Pixel LED system has the AdaptiveFrontlight System function and also managesthe high beam in conjunction with the Automaticheadlamp dipping function. The Peugeot Pixel LED headlamps incorporatethree LED modules:–a "Pixel" module that varies the number ofLEDs lit and their intensity according to drivingconditions. This module manages the light flowsvertically and horizontally.-two "Low beam" modules whose intensityvaries with the Adaptive Frontlight System modeselected. All these LED modules contribute to the lightingin the low beam and high beam positions. This system automatically adapts the main beamaccording to the driving conditions, so thatoptimum illumination is maintained for the driver, without causing a nuisance to other road users. The driver remains responsible for thevehicle's lighting, its correct use in theprevailing light, visibility and traffic conditions, and for compliance with driving and vehicleregulations. The system is active from 28 mph (45km/h) and deactivates below 22 mph (35km/h).Activation/DeactivationPlace the ring of the lighting control stalk inthe “AUTO” position. This indicator lamp comes on in theinstrument panel. It is configured in the Settings > Ve-hicle touch screen application.Lighting and visibility76This mode is activated if the vehicle is moving ata speed between 0 and 43 mph (70 km/h) andthe rear foglamps are on.Beyond 43 mph (70
