In these situations, the power of theirbeams may dazzle other drivers. They mustonly be used in fog or falling snow (rules mayvary depending on country).Do not forget to switch off the foglamps whenthey are no longer necessary.Switching off of the lighting when theignition is switched offWhen the ignition is switched off, all ofthe lamps turn off immediately, except forthe dipped beam headlamps if automaticguideme- home lighting is activated.Lighting and visibility70
Switching on the lamps after switchingoff the ignitionTo reactivate the lighting control, rotatethe ring, to the "AUTO" position, then tothe desired position. If the driver's door isopened, a temporary audible signal warns thedriver that the lamps are on. They will gooff automatically after a period of time thatdepends on the level of charge in the battery(entering energy economy mode). In some weather conditions (e.g. lowtemperature or humidity), misting on theinternal surface of the glass of the headlampsand rear lamps is normal, and will disappearafter the lamps have been on for a fewminutes.Never look too closely at the light beam ofLED technology lamps - risk of serious eyeinjury!Travelling abroadVehicles equipped with Peugeot Pixel LEDheadlamps:If using your vehicle in a country thatdrives on the other side of the road, theAdaptive Frontlight System function shouldbe deactivated on the touch screen to avoiddazzling oncoming drivers.Daytime running lamps/SidelampsThese LED lamps at the front and rear of thevehicle light up automatically when the enginestarts. They perform the following functions:–Daytime running lamps (lighting control stalk atposition "AUTO" with adequate ambient light).–Sidelamps (lighting control stalk at position"AUTO" with low ambient light or "Sidelampsonly" or "Dipped/main beam headlamps").In daytime running lamps mode, the light-emitting diodes are brighter.Direction indicatorsLeft or right: lower or raise the lighting controlstalk, beyond the point of resistance. If you keep the direction indicators on formore than 20 seconds, the volume of theaudible signal will increase if the speed isabove 50 mph (80 km/h).Three flashesPress briefly upwards or downwards, withoutgoing beyond the point of resistance; thedirection indicators will flash 3 times.Parking lamps(Depending on version)Vehicle side marking by lighting the sidelampson the traffic side only.Within one minute after switching off theignition, operate the lighting control stalkupwards or downwards, depending on theside of the traffic (e.g. when parking on theright, push the lighting control stalk down tolight up on the left).Lighting and visibility714

They may also come on ifrain is detected, at the same time as automaticoperation of the windscreen wipers. As soon as the brightness returns to a sufficientlevel or after the windscreen wipers are switchedoff, the lamps are switched off automatically.MalfunctionIn the event of a malfunction of therain/ sunshine sensor, the vehicle’slamps come on and this warning lampis displayed on the instrument panel, accompanied by an audible signal and/or thedisplay of a message.Have it checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or aqualified workshop.Do not cover the rain/sunshine sensorlocated at the top centre of the windscreenbehind the interior rear view mirror; theassociated functions would no longer becontrolled. In fog or snow, the rain/sunshine sensormay detect sufficient light. For this reason, the lighting will not come on automatically.Lighting and visibility72This is confirmed by an audible signal and thelighting of the corresponding direction indicatorlamp on the instrument panel.
Lighting and visibility734The inner surface of the windscreen maybecome misted up and affect the properoperation of the rain/sunshine sensor. In humid and cold weather, demist thewindscreen regularly.Guide-me-home andwelcome lightingGuide-me-home lightingAutomaticWith the ring of the lighting control stalk in the"AUTO” position and when the light is poor, thedipped beam headlamps come on automaticallywhen the ignition is switched off.You can activate/deactivate and ad-just the duration of the guide-me-home lighting in the Settings > Vehi-cle touch screen application.ManualWith the ignition off, pull the lighting controlstalk toward you ("headlamp flash") toactivate/ deactivate the function.Manual guide-me-home lighting goes offautomatically after a period of time.Welcome lightingWhen the vehicle is unlocked in low lightconditions and the "Automatic illumination ofheadlamps" function is activated, this systemautomatically switches on:–On the outside, sidelamps, dipped beamheadlamps and door mirror spotlamps.–Inside, courtesy lamps and footwell lighting.Door mirror spotlampsThese spotlamps facilitate access to the vehicleby lighting the ground near the front doors. The spotlamps come on automatically:–when the vehicle is unlocked.–when a door is opened.–when a request to locate the vehicle isreceived from the remote control. They also come on with the welcome lightingand guide-me-home lighting functions. They go off automatically after 30 seconds.Automatic lightingsystems - GeneralrecommendationsThe automatic lighting systems use a detectioncamera, located at the top of the windscreen.Operating limitsThe system may be disrupted or not workcorrectly:–When visibility conditions are poor (e.g.snowfall, heavy rain).–If the windscreen is dirty, misted-up ormasked (e.g. sticker) in front of the camera.–If the vehicle is facing highly reflective signsor safety barrier reflectors. The system is not able to detect:–Road users that do not have their ownlighting, such as pedestrians.–Vehicles with hidden lighting (e.g. travellingbehind a safety barrier on the motorway).–Vehicles at the top or bottom of a steepslope, on winding roads, on crossroads.MaintenanceClean the windscreen regularly, particularly the area in front of the camera. The internal surface of the windscreen canalso become misted around the camera. In humid and cold weather, demist thewindscreen regularly.Do not allow snow to accumulate on thebonnet or roof of the vehicle as this couldobstruct the camera.
With the ring of the lighting control stalk inthe "AUTO" position and the function activatedon the touch screen, this system automaticallyswitches between dipped and main beamheadlamps, according to lighting and trafficconditions, using a camera located at the top ofthe windscreen. This system is a driving aid.The driver remains responsible for thevehicle's lighting, its correct use in theprevailing light, visibility and traffic conditions, and for compliance with driving and vehicleregulations. The system becomes operational whenthe vehicle exceeds 28 mph (45 km/h).When the speed falls below 22 mph (35km/h), the system is no longer operational.Activation/DeactivationIt is configured in the Settings > Ve-hicle touch screen application. The state of the system is stored when theignition is switched off. When the system detects thick fog, ittemporarily deactivates the function.OperationIf the ambient light level is very low and trafficconditions permit:–The main beam head-lamps come on automat-ically. These indicatorlamps light up on the in-strument panel. If the ambient light level is sufficient and/or thetraffic conditions do not allow the main beamheadlamps to be lit:–The dipped beam head-lamps remain lit. These in-dicator lamps light up onthe instrument panel. The function is deactivated if the foglamps areswitched on.When the foglamps are switched off, the functionis automatically reactivated. This indicator lamp goes out whenthe function is deactivated.PauseIf the situation requires a change of headlampbeam, the driver can take over at any time.Switch the headlamps manually betweendipped and main beam to pause the function. If the "AUTO" and "Dipped beam" indicatorlamps were on, the system changes to mainbeam. If the "AUTO" and "Main beam" indicator lampswere on, the system changes to dipped beam.To reactivate the function, once again switchthe headlamps manually between dipped andmain beam.MalfunctionIf a malfunction occurs with the sys-tem or the camera, this warning lamplights up on the instrument panel, ac-companied by an audible signal anda message.Lighting and visibility74Automatic headlampdippingFor more information, refer tothe General recommendations forautomatic lighting systems.
This function has several lighting modes, specificto each driving situation. The intensity and direction of the mainheadlamps and the modules vary so as toincrease or reduce the range of the lighting.Themodules tilt so as to expand and direct the lightbeam to increase or decrease the lighting up ofthe sides of the road. The function shifts the lightbeam to the sides of the headlamp to ensurebetter illumination in curves. This function is a driving aid which cannot,in any circumstances, replace the need forvigilance on the part of the driver who mustcontinually adapt the driving of the vehicle tothe visibility and traffic conditions.Activation/DeactivationPlace the ring of the lighting control stalk inthe “AUTO” position. It is configured in the Settings > Ve-hicle touch screen application.Operation"Town" modeThe width of the beam is increased to betterdistinguish hazards on the side of the road(pedestrians, intersections).By default, the function starts in "Country" mode. After a few seconds, the function switches to"Town" mode as long as the speed is below 19mph (30 km/h).This mode is deactivated after a few secondsabove 31 mph (50 km/h)."Country" modeThis lighting provides a higher light beam, anincreased intensity of the headlamps and adecreased intensity of the modules. This mode is active as long as the rear foglampsare switched off and/or the front wipers areactivated for less than 2 minutes.Between 19 mph (30 km/h) and 43 mph (70km/h), with the rear foglamps off and if thefront wipers activated for more than 2 minutescontinuously, the function switches to "Badweather" mode."Bad weather" modeThe beam is widened. The power of the modulesis increased to enable the driver to see the roadmarkings more easily, whilst the intensity of themain headlamps is reduced so as to improve thedriver’s vision (taking reflections caused by a wetroad into account).Between 19 mph (30 km/h) and 43 mph (70km/h), with the rear foglamps off, front wipersactivated for many minutes continuously, thefunction switches to "Country" mode."Foggy" modeLighting and visibility754Adaptive FrontlightSystemAvailable only on versions equipped withPeugeot Pixel LED headlamps.Have it checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or aqualified workshop.
km/h), the function switches to "Motorway" modeeven if the rear foglamps are activated."Motorway" modeAt any time, this lighting mode can be triggeredby the Automatic headlamp dipping functionindependent of the Adaptive Frontlight Systemfunction. This mode automatically adapts to the speedand angle of the steering wheel.Beyond 55 mph (90 km/h), the power and rangeof the lighting is maximised to best illuminate thelength and width of the roadway."Boost motorway" modeAt any time, this lighting mode can be triggeredby the Automatic headlamp dipping functionindependent of the Adaptive Frontlight Systemfunction. This mode automatically adapts to the speedand angle of the steering wheel.Beyond 70 mph (110 km/h), the power andrange of the lighting is maximised to bestilluminate the length and width of the roadway.Static bending lightingIn a bend situation, the light beam provides anadditional illumination of the road to the right orleft when the vehicle speed is 43 mph (70 km/h)or less. The system is triggered by curve radiusthresholds and vehicle speed. The phases of increasing and decreasing lightintensity are carried out gradually.Digital bending lightingIn a bend situation, the light beam moves aroundthe curve to match the main direction of thedriver's eyes, regardless of the vehicle speedand the bend radius. The lateral intensities of the low beam areshifted in the appropriate direction of the curve. The system activates the filled pixel elements toincrease/extend the light beam area.Peugeot Pixel LEDFor more information, refer tothe General recommendations forautomatic lighting systems. The Peugeot Pixel LED system has the AdaptiveFrontlight System function and also managesthe high beam in conjunction with the Automaticheadlamp dipping function. The Peugeot Pixel LED headlamps incorporatethree LED modules:–a "Pixel" module that varies the number ofLEDs lit and their intensity according to drivingconditions. This module manages the light flowsvertically and horizontally.-two "Low beam" modules whose intensityvaries with the Adaptive Frontlight System modeselected. All these LED modules contribute to the lightingin the low beam and high beam positions. This system automatically adapts the main beamaccording to the driving conditions, so thatoptimum illumination is maintained for the driver, without causing a nuisance to other road users. The driver remains responsible for thevehicle's lighting, its correct use in theprevailing light, visibility and traffic conditions, and for compliance with driving and vehicleregulations. The system is active from 28 mph (45km/h) and deactivates below 22 mph (35km/h).Activation/DeactivationPlace the ring of the lighting control stalk inthe “AUTO” position. This indicator lamp comes on in theinstrument panel. It is configured in the Settings > Ve-hicle touch screen application.Lighting and visibility76This mode is activated if the vehicle is moving ata speed between 0 and 43 mph (70 km/h) andthe rear foglamps are on.Beyond 43 mph (70
When deactivated, the lighting system changesto "Automatic illumination of lamps" mode.It is recommended that you deactivate thefunction in foggy or snowy conditions or incase of heavy mist. The function temporarily is deactivated whenthe system detects thick fog or when thefoglamps are switched on manually. This issignalled by the indicator lamp going off onthe instrument panel.OperationUsing a camera, the system detects the drivingconditions (brightness, lights from oncoming orfollowed vehicles, road turns) and adapts thebeams of the main headlamps accordingly. The modules that make up the main beamsswitch on and off gradually, segment bysegment, depending on the driving conditionsdetected.Nominal main beam lighting is restored as soonas the vehicle is no longer detected by thesystem. If the system is selected but the dis-play on the instrument panel and thealerts are not available, the indicatorlamp comes on in grey.Followed vehicleWhen approaching a vehicle from behind, onlythose lamp segments directed at the followedvehicle go off, thereby creating a "tunnel" so asnot to dazzle its driver.Oncoming vehicleWhen an oncoming vehicle approaches, onlythose lamp segments directed at this vehiclego off, thereby creating a "tunnel" during theduration of the approach.Entering an illuminated areaAt the entrance to an illuminated area (e.g. atown), the lamp segments are gradually switchedoff from the outside to the inside of the vehicle toswitch to the dipped beams.Exiting an illuminated areaThe lamp segments gradually light up from theinside to the outside of the vehicle to restore themain beams.Highway restrictionThe system cannot detect the presence ofoncoming vehicles on a roadway separated bya low wall or safety rail. Therefore, the system reduces the light beam onthe side of the central separation in order not todazzle the driver of an oncoming vehicle. In a bend situation, the restriction angle isadjusted according to the curve radius.Anti-glare for traffic signsSome traffic signs may be more dazzling tothe driver due to the light reflection of LEDheadlamps. The system can modulate the light intensitysent to traffic signs and thus reduce the lightreflection to avoid driver glare.High beam boostThe high beam amplification provides anadditional illumination in the centre of the highbeam to improve the light distribution whendriving at higher speeds.PausePause If the situation requires a change ofheadlamp beam, the driver can take over at anytime.Switch the dipped/main beam headlampsmanually to pause the function. The lighting system changes to "Automaticillumination of lamps" mode.Lighting and visibility774The state of the system is stored when theignition is switched off.
To reactivate the function, manually switchthe dipped/main beam headlamps again.MalfunctionIn the first case, this warning lampis displayed on the instrument panel, accompanied by a message if thesensor is masked. This is a normal behavior, which does notrequest the support of a qualified workshop.Stop the vehicle and verify if the front camera iscovered by dirt, mud, sand, snow, ice or anythingpreventing the sensing. The system is operational again after thedetection field has been cleaned. In the second case, this warning lampis displayed on the instrument panel, accompanied by an audible signal anda message if a malfunction occurs withthe adaptive headlamp lighting or the camera.Have it checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or aqualified workshop.Do not cover the rain/sunshine sensorlocated at the top centre of the windscreenbehind the interior rear view mirror; theassociated functions would no longer becontrolled.Wiper control stalkBefore operating the wipers in wintryconditions, clear any snow, ice or frostfrom the windscreen and around the wiperarms and blades.Do not operate the wipers on a drywindscreen. In extremely hot or coldweather, check that the wiper blades are notstuck to the windscreen before operating thewipers. After using an automatic car wash, youmay temporarily notice abnormal noisesand poorer wiping performance. You do notneed to replace the wiper blades.Windscreen wipersTo select the wiping speed: raise or lower thestalk to the desired position.Fast wiping (heavy rain)Normal wiping (moderate rain)Automatic wipingSwitching offSingle wipeAfter the ignition has been switched offand the windscreen wiper is no longeroperated (wiper control stalk set to 0 or noautomatic wiping for more than 30 seconds),the wipers may move slightly at the foot of thewindscreen. In position 1 or 2, the wiping frequency isautomatically reduced when the speed ofthe vehicle drops below 3 mph (5 km/h).When the speed is above 6 mph (10 km/h)again, the wiping frequency returns to theoriginal frequency (fast or normal).Single wipeIf the wiper control stalk is:In the AUTO position, pull the stalk brieflytowards you then release it.In the 0 position, press briefly on the stalkthen release it.Lighting and visibility78
Pressing and holding triggers continuous wipingat the normal wiping speed.Windscreen washPull the wiper control stalk towards you andhold.A final wiping cycle is performed whenscreenwashing ends.Screenwash fluid is sprayed along thelength of the wiper blade. This improvesvisibility and reduces screenwash fluidconsumption. With automatic air conditioning, any actionon the screenwash control results intemporary closure of the air intake to protectthe passenger compartment from any odour. To avoid damaging the wiper blades,do not operate the screenwash if thescreenwash reservoir is empty.Only operate the screenwash if there is norisk of the fluid freezing on the windscreenand hindering visibility. During the winterperiod, use "very cold climate" rated products.Never top up with water. An additional jet is fitted above the number plateto clean the reversing camera (depending onversion). With reverse gear engaged, thewashing of the reversing camera istriggered by clicking on this buttonin the right side menu of the touchscreen.Automatic windscreenwipersIn AUTO mode, the front wipers workautomatically and adapt to the intensity ofprecipitation depending on the sensitivity of thesensor selected. The rainfall detection function uses a rain/sunshine sensor located at the top centre of thewindscreen, behind the rear view mirror. In certain weather conditions (e.g. fog, frost, snow, projections on salty roads), thedriver may have to return to manual wiping.Switching on/offTo switch on:Put the wiper control stalk in the AUTOposition.Turn the ring to adjust the sensitivity of thesensor.A wiping cycle, accompanied by the display ofa message, confirms that the request has beentaken into account. To switch off, put the wiper control stalk inanother position or in the 0 position.Adjusting the sensitivityThe lower position corresponds to the lowestsensitivity of the sensor. The upper position corresponds to the highestsensitivity of the sensor. The higher the sensitivity, the faster the systemreacts and increases the wiping frequency.A rotation of the ring from a lower position to ahigher position triggers a confirmation wiping. After the ignition has been switched off formore than 1 minute with the wiper controlstalk in the AUTO position, when the ignitionis switched on again:– the system works, depending on the volumeof rain detected, as soon as the vehicleexceeds 6 mph (10 km/h), if the outsidetemperature is below +3°C.– the system works immediately, dependingon the volume of rain detected, if the outsidetemperature is above +3°C.Do not cover the rain/sunshine sensor. When using an automatic car wash, switchoff the automatic wipers and the ignition. In winter, wait until the windscreen iscompletely clear of ice before activating theautomatic wipers.Lighting and visibility794
MalfunctionIf a fault occurs with the automatic wipers, thewipers operate in intermittent mode.Have it checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or aqualified workshop.Special position of thewindscreen wipersThis maintenance position is used while cleaningor replacing the wiper blades. It can also beuseful, in wintry weather (ice, snow), to releasethe wiper blades from the windscreen. To maintain the effectiveness of the flatwiper blades, it is advisable to:– handle them with care.– clean them regularly using soapy water.– avoid using them to hold cardboard on thewindscreen.– replace them at the first signs of wear. Before removing a windscreen wiper bladeOperating the wiper control stalk immediatelyafter switching off the ignition will place the wiperblades in a vertical position.Proceed with the desired operation or thereplacement of the wiper blades. After refitting a windscreen wiper bladeTo return the wiper blades to their initialposition after the operation, switch on theignition and operate the wiper control stalk.Changing a wiper bladeRemoving/Refitting at the frontCarry out these wiper blade replacementoperations from the driver's side.Starting with the wiper blade farthest fromyou, hold each arm by the rigid section andraise it as far as possible.Take care not to hold the arms at the jetlocations.Do not touch the wiper blades - risk ofirreparable deformation.Do not release them while moving them. Riskof damaging the windscreen!Clean the windscreen using screenwashfluid.Do not apply "Rain X" type water-repellentproducts.Disconnect the hydraulic quick connector ofthe arm from the filler neck of the worn wiperblade.Rotate the worn wiper blade to the stop inrelation to the arm axle.Unclip the worn wiper blade closest to youand remove it.Install the new wiper blade and clip it tothe arm; a clicking sound indicates correctassembly.Connect the hydraulic quick connector of thearm to the filler neck of the new wiper blade;a clicking sound indicates correct assembly.Repeat the procedure for the other wiperblade.Starting with the wiper blade closest to you, once again hold each arm by the rigidsection, then guide it carefully onto thewindscreen.Lighting and visibility80
Turn the ring to align the desired symbol with themarking.OffIntermittent wipingScreenwash-wipeIf the ignition has been switched off with the rearwiper active, operate the ring to reactivate wipingwhen the ignition is switched on again (unlessthe ignition was off for less than 1 minute). The first rotation of the ring to the screenwashposition triggers a single wipe. If the ring is thenleft in the intermittent wiping position, the rearwiper adopts a wiping speed dependent on thatof the windscreen wipers and the speed of thevehicle.ReverseWhen reverse gear is engaged, the rear wiperwill come into operation automatically if the frontwindscreen wipers are operating. It is configured in the Settings > Ve-hicle touch screen application.OffIn the event of accumulation of snow or hardfrost or if a bicycle carrier is fitted to a towingsystem, deactivate the automatic rear wiper viathe Settings > Vehicle touch screen application.Rear screenwashTurn the ring as far as it will go and hold it inposition. The screenwash and the wiper operate for aslong as the ring remains turned. A final wipingcycle is performed when screen washing ends.An additional jet is fitted above the number plateto clean the reversing camera (depending onversion).Changing a rear wiper bladeHold the arm by the rigid section and raise itas far as possible.Clean the rear screen using screenwashfluid.Identify the position of the arm on which thewiper blade is attached.Unclip the worn wiper blade by pulling ittowards the rear screen and remove it.Install the new wiper blade in the sameposition of the arm and clip it into position.Once again hold the arm by the rigid section, then guide it carefully onto the rear screen.Take care not to use an incorrect positionduring fitting - risk of damage!Lighting and visibility814General safetyrecommendationsDo not remove the labels attachedin different places on your vehicle. They include safety warnings as well asidentification information for the vehicle.Depending on country regulations, certainsafety equipment may be mandatory:high visibility safety vests, warning triangles, breathalysers, spare bulbs, spare fuses, fireextinguisher, first aid kit, mud flaps at the rearof the vehicle, etc.Rear wiper
