To reach the battery:Open the front armrest.Unclip the compartment's floor.(+) Positive terminal, protected by a red plasticcover (not accessible).(-) Negative terminal with a black quick-releaseconnector.Charging the front battery using a batterychargerFor optimum service life of the front battery, itis essential to maintain an adequate state ofcharge.In some circumstances, it may be necessary tocharge the front battery:– When using the vehicle mainly for shortjourneys.– If the vehicle is to be taken off the road forseveral weeks.Consult a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualifiedworkshop.To charge the vehicle's front batteryyourself, use only a charger compatiblewith lead-acid batteries with a nominalvoltage of 12 V.Follow the instructions provided by themanufacturer of the charger.Never reverse polarities.It is not necessary to disconnect thebattery.Switch the ignition off.Switch off all electrical consumers (audiosystem, lighting, wipers, etc.).Switch off charger B before connecting thecables to the battery, so as to avoid anydangerous sparks.Ensure that the charger cables are in goodcondition.Lift the plastic cover on the (+) terminal, if thevehicle has one.Connect the cables of charger B as follows:• Positive (+) red cable to the (+) terminal onbattery A.• Negative (-) black cable to earth point C on thevehicle.At the end of the charging operation, switchoff charger B before disconnecting the cablesfrom battery A.Disconnecting/reconnecting theaccessory batteriesProcedure for disconnecting/reconnecting theaccessory batteries in the event of long-termimmobilisation of the vehicle.Before disconnecting the accessory batteries:Open the driver's door and boot.In the event of a breakdown2198
