AdviceUsing the ventilation and airconditioning systemTo ensure that air is distributed evenly, keep the external air intake grilles at thebase of the windscreen, the nozzles, thevents, the air outlets and the air extractorin the boot free from obstructions.Do not cover the sunshine sensor locatedon the dashboard; this sensor is usedto regulate the automatic air conditioningsystem.Operate the air conditioning system forat least 5 to 10 minutes once or twice amonth to keep it in good working order. If the system does not produce cold air, switch it off and contact a dealer or aqualified workshop. When towing a large load on a steep gradientin high temperatures, switching off the airconditioning increases the available enginepower, enhancing the towing capacity.Avoid driving for too long with theventilation off or with prolonged operationof interior air recirculation. Risk of misting anddeterioration of the air quality! If the interior temperature is very highafter the vehicle has stood for a longtime in the sunshine, air the passengercompartment for a few moments.Put the air flow control at a setting highenough to quickly change the air in thepassenger compartment.Condensation created by the airconditioning results in a discharge of waterunderneath the vehicle. This is perfectlynormal.Servicing the ventilation and airconditioning systemEnsure that the passenger compartmentfilter is in good condition and have thefilter elements replaced regularly. We recommend using a composite passengercompartment filter. Its specific active additivehelps protect against polluting gases and badsmells. To ensure correct operation of the airconditioning system, have it checkedaccording to the recommendations in theManufacturer’s service schedule.Ease of use and comfort573Stop & Start / e-Auto modeThe heating and air conditioning systemsonly operate when the engine is running.Temporarily deactivate the correspondingsystem to maintain a comfortable temperaturein the passenger compartment. For more information, refer to thecorresponding section.Rechargeable hybrid vehiclesIntensive use of the air conditioningreduces the vehicle range in Electric mode.Electric vehiclesSelecting the ECO driving mode reduceselectrical energy consumption, but restrictsthe performance of the heating and airconditioning systems, although it does notdeactivate them.Ventilation with the ignition onWhen the ignition is switched on, the ventilationsystem and the air flow 2 and air distribution3 settings in the passenger compartment areactivated, for a period which depends on thebattery charge. This function does not include the airconditioning system.
