Peugeot 5008 2024- 2025 Owner's Manual Driving Tyre under-inflation detection

Restarting is only achieved by the belt starteruntil the torque demand is available, if thetraction battery is sufficiently charged. When thetorque demand is insufficient, the petrol enginerestarts.Using the steering wheel paddles alsocauses the restarting of petrol engine. The e-Auto mode cannot switch off thepetrol engine in the following cases:– The state of charge is less than 30% of thetraction battery energy.– There is a need for vacuum brake assistdepending on the altitude.– The Sport mode is selected.– Maintaining thermal comfort in the passengercompartment (heating, air conditioning,demisting/defrosting).Deactivation/ReactivationBy default, the function is activated when theignition is switched on.It is configured in the ADAS touchscreen application.or Direct access to the Shortcuts for drivingaids. The display of a message on the instrumentpanel confirms the change of state.Function deactivated, this indicatorlights up in the instrument panel. If high traction is required, the driver candeactivate the e-Auto mode using thetouch screen application.Tyre under-inflationdetectionThis system alerts the driver if one or more tyressuffer a drop in pressure. The alert is raised when the vehicle is moving, not when stationary. It compares the information given by the wheelspeed sensors with reference values, whichmust be reinitialised every time the tyrepressures are adjusted or a wheel changed. It takes into account the last values storedduring the reinitialisation request. It is thereforeessential that the tyre pressure is correct duringthe operation. This operation is the driver’sresponsibility. The tyre under-inflation detection cannot,in any circumstances, replace the need forvigilance on the part of the driver. This system does not avoid the need toregularly check the tyre pressures (includingthe spare wheel), especially before a longjourney.Driving with under-inflated tyres, particularlyin adverse conditions (heavy load, highspeed, long journey):– worsens road-holding.– lengthens braking distances.– causes premature wear of the tyres.– increases energy consumption. The inflation pressures defined for thevehicle can be found on the tire pressurelabel. For more information on the Identificationmarkings, refer to the corresponding section.Checking tyre pressuresThis check should be done monthly whenthe tyres are "cold" (vehicle stopped for 1hour or after a journey of less than 6 miles(10 km) at moderate speeds).Otherwise, add 0.3 bar to the pressuresshown on the label.Snow chainsThe system does not have to bereinitialised after fitting or removing snowchains.Under-inflation alertThis is signalled by the fixed illumi-nation of this warning lamp, accom-panied by an audible signal and, de-pending on equipment, the display ofa message.Reduce speed immediately, avoid excessivesteering movements and avoid suddenbraking.Stop the vehicle as soon as it is safe to doso.Driving124
The loss of pressure detected may notalways cause visible deformation of thetyre.Do not rely on just a visual check.Using a compressor, such as the one inthe temporary puncture repair kit, check thepressures of all four tyres when cold.If it is not possible to carry out thischeck immediately, drive carefully at reducedspeed. In the event of a puncture, use the temporarypuncture repair kit or the spare wheel(depending on equipment).Driving too slowly may not ensureoptimum monitoring. The alert is not immediately triggered in theevent of a sudden loss of pressure or tyreblow-out. This is because analysis of thevalues read by the wheel's speed sensorscan take several minutes. The alert may be delayed at speeds below 25mph (40 km/h), or when adopting a dynamicdriving style. The alert is kept active until the system isreinitialised.ReinitialisationThe system must be reinitialised after anyadjustment to the pressure of one or more tyres, and after changing one or more wheels. Before reinitialising the system, make surethat the pressures of the four tyres arecorrect for the conditions of use of the vehicleand conform to the values written on the tyrepressure label.Check the pressures of the four tyres beforeperforming the reinitialisation. The system does not advise if a pressure isincorrect at the time of reinitialisation. With the vehicle stationary, the sys-tem can be reinitialised in the Set-tings>Vehicle touch screen applica-tion.Then select Safety > Tire Pressure Setup.Press YES to confirm. The reinitialisation is confirmed by the display ofa message and an audible signal.MalfunctionIn the event of a malfunction, these warning lamps light upon the instrument panel.A message appears, accompanied by an audible signal. In this case, the tyre under-inflation monitoringfunction is no longer performed.Have it checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or aqualified workshop.Non-standard or 'space-saver' sparewheelThe use of this type of spare wheel maysuspend tyre pressure monitoring. In this case, the malfunction warning lampcomes on and disappears once the wheel hasbeen replaced by one of uniform size (thesame as the others), the pressure readjustedand the reinitialisation carried out.Driving and manoeuvringaids - GeneralrecommendationsDriving and manoeuvring aids cannot, inany circumstances, replace the need forvigilance on the part of the driver. The driver must comply with the HighwayCode, must remain in control of the vehicle inall circumstances and must be able to retakecontrol of it at all times. The driver must adaptthe speed to climatic conditions, traffic andthe state of the road.It is the driver's responsibility to constantlymonitor traffic conditions, assess the distanceand relative speed of other vehicles, andanticipate their manoeuvres before using thedirection indicator and changing lanes. These systems do not make it possible toexceed the laws of physics.Driving1256
