Peugeot 5008 2024- 2025 Owner's Manual Driving Road signs recognition

Multiple deactivationIt is possible to deactivate several driverassistance functions simultaneously. This is done in two steps:– First of all, the selection of all the functions thatyou want to deactivate.– Secondly, the simultaneous deactivation of allthese functions.Selection of functionsPress this button on the dash-board to display the ADAS tabs.Select the Functions tab.Press this button to display thelist of available functions.Select the functions that will be deactivatedby a long press on the ADAS button at eachstart (e.g. Stop&Start, Lane Keeping Assist,Automatic Braking System (Active SafetyBrake)).Press this button to return to theprevious page. The functions to deactivate are saved in thesystem.Deactivation of these functionsPress and hold this but-ton on the dashboard. All previously selected functions are deactivateduntil the vehicle is next restarted (confirmed byan audible signal).Road signs recognitionFor more information, refer to the Generalrecommendations on the use of drivingand manoeuvring aids. This system displays the maximum speedauthorised locally on the instrument panel, using:– Speed limit signs detected by the camera.– Speed limit information from the on-boardnavigation system’s mapping.– Speed limit information from the connectedservices.– Signs indicating a shared traffic zone detectedby the camera.Sign detectedSuggested speed(calculated)Entry into a sharedtraffic zoneExample:Without PEUGEOT i-Connect Advanced /PEUGEOT ConnectNav10 mph or 20 km/h(depending on theunits on the instru-ment panel)With PEUGEOT i-Connect Advanced /PEUGEOT ConnectNavDisplay of the speedin force in the countryyou are driving in.– Some supplementary traffic signs detected bythe camera.Supplementary traf-fic sign detectedDisplay of the speedassociated with thesupplementary traf-fic signSpeed limit whenrainingExamples:If the wiper controlstalk is in the "inter-mittent wipe" or "au-tomatic wipe" position(in order to activatethe rain sensor): 68mph (110 km/h) (forexample)Speed limit whentowingIf an approved towingdevice is fixed to thevehicle: 56 mph (90km/h) (for example)Driving128Press this button to access directly to theShortcuts tab.
Supplementary traf-fic sign detectedDisplay of the speedassociated with thesupplementary traf-fic signSpeed limit applica-ble over a certaindistanceExample:43 mph (70 km/h) (forexample)Supplementary traf-fic sign detectedDisplay of the speedassociated with thesupplementary traf-fic signSpeed limit for ve-hicles with a grossvehicle weight orgross train weightless than 3.5 tonnes56 mph (90 km/h) (forexample)Speed limit in caseof snowExample:If the outside temper-ature is below 3°C: 19mph (30 km/h) (for ex-ample) with a "snow-flake" symbolSpeed limit at cer-tain times of the dayExample:19 mph (30 km/h)(for example) with a"clock" symbolTo get valid speed limit information, thevehicle's current position is sent via thetelematics unit and is immediately deletedafter processing.Tracking of the vehicle position is not possibleat any time. This is not impacted by the privacy settings ofthe connected services.On-board navigation mapping should beregularly updated in order to receiveaccurate speed limit information from thesystem. The units for the speed limit (mph or km/h)depend on the country you are driving in.This should be taken into account to ensureyou observe the speed limit. For the system to work properly whenchanging countries, the speed unit of theinstrument panel must match that of thecountry you are driving in.Country selection is only available for audiosystems without on-board navigation.Automatic sign reading is a driving aidsystem and does not always display thecorrect speed limits. The speed limit signs present on the roadalways take priority over those displayed bythe system. The system is designed to detect signs that6 conform to the Vienna Convention on roadsigns.Specific speed limits, such as those forheavy goods vehicles, are not displayed. The display of the speed limit on theinstrument panel is updated when passinga speed limit sign intended for cars (lightvehicles).Information displayed onthe instrument panel1.Detected speed limit indication2.End of speed limit indicationThe system is active but is not detecting speedlimit information. On detecting speed limit information, the systemdisplays the value, accompanied by an audiblesignal. This audible signal is emitted if the Speedlimit change sound is activated previouslyin the Road Signs function of the ADAStouch screen application.Driving1296
For a suggested maximum speed, when thevehicle exceeds it, the speed is displayed andflashes for several seconds. If the vehicle continues to exceed it, the speedis displayed and flashes for a few more seconds, accompanied by an audible signal.Operating limitsThe system does not take account of reducedspeed limits, especially those imposed in thefollowing cases:– Atmospheric pollution.– Towing.– Driving with a space-saver type spare wheel orsnow chains fitted.– Tyre repaired using the temporary puncturerepair kit.– Young drivers. The system may not display the speed limit if itdoes not detect a speed limit sign within a presetperiod and in the following situations:– Non-standard road signs.– Road signs that are obstructed, damaged orbent.SettingsDeactivation/ActivationBy default, the overspeed alert sound isautomatically activated at every engine start. You can activate/deactivate the over-speed alert and the speed limitchange sound.or Direct access to the Shortcuts for drivingaids. The system cannot be deactivated.Thestate of speed limit change is saved whenthe ignition is switched off.In the event of the overspeed alertsound deactivation, this warninglamp lights up a few seconds on theinstrument panel.Country selectionThe list of detected road signs can be updatedby selecting a specific country. In the ADAS touch screen appli-cation, select Functions>RoadSigns>Country setting. In the Select Country list, select the desiredcountry. The current country is displayed under thefunction name in the settings screen. The country selection is saved when theignition is switched off.MalfunctionThis warning lamp lights up on theinstrument panel with the message"Audible Warning System fault:Repair needed" if the audible warn-ing system is in failure. The system may be disturbed or unavailable.Have it checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or aqualified workshop. In the event of a malfunction, thiswarning lamp lights up on the instru-ment panel, accompanied by the dis-play of a message and an audiblesignal.Have it checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or aqualified workshop. This warning lamp lights up on theinstrument panel with the message"Driving Assistance Sensor blind:Clean sensor, see User Manual" ifthe sensor is masked. This is a normal behavior, which does notrequest the support of a qualified workshop. In this case, stop the vehicle and verify if thefront camera is covered by dirt, mud, sand, snow, ice or anything preventing the sensing. The system is operational again after thedetection field has been cleaned.Driving130
Speed settingrecommendationsThe driver can select the speed displayed by theRoad signs recognition system as the speedsetting for the speed limiter, cruise control oradaptive cruise control using the OK button. If rain is detected, the system proposes a speedsetting to the driver which is lower than thespeed read/sent from the mapping system inorder to adapt to the weather conditions (e.g. onmotorways, the proposed speed is 68 mph (110km/h) instead of 81 mph (130 km/h).For more information on the Speedlimiter, Cruise control or Adaptivecruise control, refer to the correspondingsections.Speed setting advance recommendationsWith Drive Assist Plus 2.0 activated, the systemdetects the next speed limit sign, displays it inthe background and proposes this new speed asthe speed setting.Once memorised:– If the speed setting is lower than the previousone, the vehicle slows down to reach this newspeed when it gets to the sign.– If the speed setting is higher than the previousone, the vehicle speeds up to reach this newspeed when it passes the sign.Steering-mounted controls1.Select speed limiter mode2.Select cruise control mode3.Memorise the speed settingInformation displayed on the instrumentpanelWithout speed setting advancerecommendationWith speed setting advancerecommendation4.Current speed setting5.Speed memorisation prompt6.Current speed limit indication7.Next speed limit indicationOperating conditions– Eligible roads: roads with separatecarriageways with prohibited access forpedestrians and cyclists.– Drive Assist Plus 2.0 activated.– Vehicle speed between 0 and 112 mph (0 and180 km/h).– Steering wheel properly held by the driver.Memorising the speed settingSwitch on the speed limiter 1-LIMIT or cruisecontrol 2.Information related to the speed limiter or cruisecontrol is displayed.Driving1316
When a new speed setting is detected, thesystem displays the value and “OK?" to suggestsaving it as a new speed setting. If there is a difference of less than 3mph (5 km/h) between the speed settingand the speed displayed by the Roadsigns recognition, the "OK?" symbol is notdisplayed.Depending on the road conditions, severalspeeds may be displayed.Press 3-OK to confirm the new speed setting. The display then reverts to its previous state.Extended Traffic SignRecognitionFor more information, refer to the Generalrecommendations on the use of drivingand manoeuvring aids. This additional system recognises these roadsigns and displays them on the instrument panel. As you approach it, the symbol of thecorresponding sign is displayed on theinstrument panel. The actual road signs always take priorityover those displayed by the system. The signs must comply with the ViennaConvention on road signs.Activation/DeactivationIt is configured in the ADAS touchscreen application.Speed limiterFor more information, refer to the Generalrecommendations on the use of drivingand manoeuvring aids. This system prevents the vehiclefrom exceeding the speed program-med by the driver (speed setting). The speed limiter is switched on manually. The minimum speed setting is 19 mph (30 km/h).The speed setting remains in the systemmemory when the ignition is switched off.Steering-mounted controls1.Speed limiter selection2.Switch on/Pause the speed limiter at thepreviously saved speed setting3.Increase the speed setting4.Decrease the speed setting5.Activate the speed limiter at the previouslysaved speed settingUse the speed suggested by the Roadsigns recognition functionFor more information on the Road signsrecognition function, refer to the correspondingsection.Driving132
