Peugeot 5008 2024- 2025 Owner's Manual Driving Lane positioning assist

The system identifies the edges of the trafficlane and steers the vehicle to keep it inside thislane and maintain the lateral position chosen bythe driver. To do this, the system uses a camera placed onthe upper part of the windscreen. This system is particularly suited to driving onmotorways and main roads.Activation/DeactivationThe Lane positioning assist system isautomatically activated, after selecting the DriveAssist Plus mode. For more information on the Drive Assist Plussystem, refer to the corresponding section. The selection is confirmed by the display of thesymbols on the instrument panel, representingthe steering wheel and the side lines. The colour of the symbols depends on theoperating state of the system:(grey) One or more operating con-ditions is not met; the system ispaused.(green) All operating conditions aremet; the system is active.(orange) System malfunction. If the driver no longer wishes to use thesystem for some time, they can deactivate it bypressing the ASSIST button again (confirmedby the Driving aids area disappearing from theinstrument panel). The system status is saved when theignition is switched off.Operating conditions– Adaptive cruise control active.– ESC system operational.– ASR system activated.– No trailer detected.– No 'space-saver' spare wheel in use.– Vehicle not subject to strong lateralacceleration.– Direction indicators off upon activation of thesystem.RegulationThe driver must hold the steering wheelproperly. When regulation is activated, the symbols aredisplayed in green: with small steering inputs, the system steers the vehicle and keeps it in theposition chosen by the driver in the traffic lane. This position is not necessarily the centre of thelane. The driver can feel movements in the steeringwheel. At any time, the driver can change the position ofthe vehicle by intervening on the steering wheeland maintaining the position until the system hastaken it into account. If the chosen position is toooff-centre, an automatic re-centering manoeuvrecan occur. The system adjusts to the newlydefined position.Pausing/Suspending thesystemThe driver must act promptly if theybelieve that the traffic conditions or thestate of the road surface require theirintervention, by moving the steering wheel totemporarily suspend system operation. Anyaction on the brake pedal that causes theAdaptive cruise control system to be pausedwill also cause the system to be paused. If the system detects that the driver isnot holding the wheel firmly enough, ittriggers a series of gradual alerts and thendeactivates itself if there is no response fromthe driver. If the function is suspended due to theprolonged release of the force holdingthe steering wheel, the system must bereactivated by pressing the ASSIST buttonagain.Driving1416Lane positioning assistFor more information, refer to the Generalrecommendations on the use of drivingand manoeuvring aids.
142and the system will reactivate itself once theoperating conditions are met again.Paused by the driver– Travelling outside the lane limits.– Too tight a grip on the steering wheel ordynamic action on the steering wheel.– Action on the brake pedal (resulting in a pauseuntil cruise control is reactivated) or acceleratorpedal (suspension for as long as the pedal isdepressed).– Pausing of the Adaptive cruise control system.– Deactivation of the ASR system.DrivingAutomatic suspensionSuspension of the system is accompanied by aspecific audible signal.– Triggering of the ESC system.– Insufficient lane detection. In this case, theLane keeping assist function can take over,

The system may issue an alert when thevehicle is travelling on a long, straight roadwith smooth road surface even if the driverthinks they are holding the steering wheelcorrectly. The system may not operate or may produceunsuitable corrections to the steering in thefollowing situations:– Wearing thick gloves (with Drive Assist Plus2.0).– Poor visibility (insufficient road lighting, snowfall, rain, fog).– Dazzle (headlamps of an oncoming vehicle, low sun, reflections on a wet road surface, leaving a tunnel, alternating light and shade).– Windscreen area in front of the cameradirty, misted up, frost-covered, snow-covered,damaged or covered by a sticker.– Lane markings eroded, partially hidden (snow, mud) or multiple (roadworks, surface joints).– Travelling in a tight bend.– Winding roads.– Road surface repairs.Risk of undesirable operationThe system should be deactivated in thefollowing situations:– Driving with a "space-saver" type sparewheel.– When towing or with a bicycle carrierattached to a towing device, particularly whena trailer is not connected or the trailer is notan approved type.– Adverse weather conditions.– Driving on slippery road surfaces (risk ofaquaplaning, snow, ice).– In roadworks or toll booth areas.– Driving on racing circuits.– Driving on a rolling road.MalfunctionIn the event of a malfunction, the Service warning lampcomes on and this (orange)symbol appears on theinstrument panel, accompanied by the display ofa message and an audible signal.Have it checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or aqualified workshop.Semi-automatic lanechanging(with Drive Assist Plus 2.0)For more information, refer to the Generalrecommendations on the use of drivingand manoeuvring aids. This system assists the driver in changing lanes. To do this, it uses the camera located at the topof the windscreen, the radar located at the frontand the four angle radars fitted in the bumpers. The steering wheel is equipped witha hands-on detection system to avoiddistraction on the part of the driver. For more information on the Hands-ondetection, refer to the corresponding section. The system cannot in any circumstancesreplace the need for vigilance on thepart of the driver. The driver remainsresponsible for their driving by monitoringtheir surroundings and keeping their hands onthe steering wheel. The driver must act promptly if they believethat the traffic conditions or the state ofthe road surface require their intervention,by moving the steering wheel to temporarilysuspend system operation.Any intervention on the brake pedal or theaccelerator pedal that causes the adaptivecruise control to be paused or suspended willalso cause the system to deactivate.Selecting the systemTwo options: – Either when the vehicle is alreadydriving on an eligible road, the driver selects thesystem by activating the Drive Assist Plus 2.0system.– Or when the driver is already using DriveAssist Plus, the vehicle suggests selecting thesystem upon arriving at an eligible road bypressing the OK button.Driving144Operating limits
