Owner Manuals

Peugeot 5008 2024- 2025 Owner's Manual Driving Lane keeping assist

The following situations may interfere withthe operation of the system or prevent itfrom working:– Lane positioning assist is active.– poor visibility (e.g. inadequate streetlighting, heavy rain, thick fog, snowfall).– dazzle (e.g. headlamps of an oncomingvehicle, low sun, reflections on a damp road, leaving a tunnel, alternating shade and light).– windscreen area located in front of thecamera (e.g. dirty, misted, frost-covered,snow-covered, damaged or masked by asticker).– lane markings absent, worn, hidden(e.g. snow, mud, dead leaves) or multiple(roadworks).– close to the vehicle ahead (lane markingsnot detected).– roads that are narrow, winding.Risk of undesirable operationThe system should be deactivated in thefollowing situations:– When a "space-saver" spare wheel is fitted.– When the vehicle is towed.– Driving on off-road.– Driving on racing circuits.Deactivation/ActivationDue to legal requirements, the system can onlybe deactivated in the vehicle personalizationuntil the next time the ignition is reactivated. The system is automatically activated by defaultevery time the engine is started. The settings are changed via theADAS touch screen application.orDirect access to the Shortcuts for driving aids.Deactivation is confirmed by the illu-mination of this indicator lamp on theinstrument panel.Driver Attention Warning by Camera/Safety modeIf the driver's drowsiness is detected, theLane keeping assist and Active Safety Brakesystems are automatically reactivated (if theyhave been deactivated by the driver in theADAS touch screen application) and theCollision Risk Alert function trigger thresholdis set to its most sensitive value. It is recommended to deactivate distractiondetection in the ADAS touch screenapplication in the same cases as those forwhich it is recommended to deactivate theLane keeping assist and Active Safety Brakesystems.MalfunctionThis warning lamp lights up on theinstrument panel with the message"Audible Warning System fault:Repair needed" if the audible warningsystem is in failure. The system may be disturbed or unavailable.Have it checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or aqualified workshop. In the event of a malfunction, thiswarning lamp lights up on theinstrument panel, accompanied by thedisplay of a message and an audiblesignal.Have it checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or aqualified workshop. This warning lamp lights up on theinstrument panel with the message"Driving Assistance Sensor blind:Clean sensor, see User Manual" ifthe sensor is masked. This is a normal behavior, which does notrequest the support of a qualified workshop. In this case, stop the vehicle and verify if thefront camera is covered by dirt, mud, sand, snow, ice or anything preventing the sensing. The system is operational again after thedetection field has been cleaned.Lane keeping assistDue to legal requirements, the systemcan only be deactivated in the vehiclepersonalization until the next time the ignitionis reactivated. The system is automaticallyactivated by default every time the engine isstarted. The system will inform the driver witha message and a chime if there is anongoing correction for more than 10s. If thedriver is still unable to keep the vehicle inthe lane, the correction interrupts after a shorttime.Driving154
For more information, refer to the Generalrecommendations on the use of drivingand manoeuvring aids.Depending on version, only lane departurewarning system is active, when a systemfault is present, a spare wheel used,Electronic Stability Control is not activated ore.g a trailer is attached. The system corrects the vehicle's trajectory byalerting the driver as soon as it detects a risk ofinvoluntary lane departure or crossing of a vergeor hard shoulder (depending on version). To do this, the system uses a camera, placed onthe upper part of the windscreen, identifying thelane markings on the ground and the side of theroad (depending on version). This system is particularly useful onmotorways and main roads.Operating conditions– Vehicle speed between 40 and 112 mph (65and 180 km/h).– Road marked with a central dividing line.– Steering wheel held with both hands.– Direction indicators off upon activation of thesystem.– ESC system activated and operational. The system helps the driver only if thereis a risk of the vehicle unintentionallywandering from the lane it is being driven in.It does not manage the safe driving distance, vehicle speed or braking. The driver must hold the steering wheel withboth hands so that they can maintain controlwhen the conditions no longer allow thesystem to intervene (e.g. in the event thatthe central dividing line marking on the roadsurface disappears).OperationOperation As soon as the system identifies a riskof involuntarily crossing one of the lane markingsdetected on the ground or a lane boundary (e.g.grass verge), it performs the trajectory correctionnecessary to restore the vehicle to its originallane. The driver will notice a turning movement ofthe steering wheel. This warning lamp flashes during tra-jectory correction. The driver can prevent the correction byfirmly holding the steering wheel (e.g.during an emergency manoeuvre). The correction is interrupted immediately ifthe direction indicators are operated. While the direction indicators are activated andfor a few seconds after switching them off, thesystem considers that a change of trajectory isintentional and no correction is triggered duringthis period.Driving1556
Driving situations and related alertsThe table below describes the alerts and messages displayed in different driving situations. The actual order of display of these alerts may be different.Function statusDisplayCommentsOFFFunction deactivated.ONNone.System active, conditions not met:– Speed below 40 mph (65 km/h).– No lane marking recognised.– ESC operation triggered.– Dynamic driving style.ONAutomatic deactivation/standby of the function (e.g. detection of a trailer, use of the"space-saver" type spare wheel supplied with the vehicle, failure).ONNone.Lane marking detected.Speed above 40 mph (65 km/h).ONThe system corrects the trajectory on the side where the risk of line crossing is detected. The driver's hands are on the steering wheel.ON"Hold the steering wheel" or "Stay in lane" (depending on version)If, while correcting the trajectory, the system determines that the correction will not beenough and that a solid line will be crossed: the driver is warned that they must provideadditional trajectory adjustment. If the steering wheel is not held properly, an audible warning sounds, accompanied by amessage, until the trajectory correction is completed or the driver has grasped the steeringwheel correctly. The duration of audible warnings will increase if multiple corrections are performed in quicksuccession. The warning will become continuous, persisting until the driver responds.Driving156
Operating limitsThe system goes into standby automatically inthe following cases:– ESC deactivated or operation triggered.– Speed below 40 mph (65 km/h) or greater than112 mph (180 km/h).– Electrical connection to a trailer.– Use of a "space-saver" spare wheel detected(as detection is not immediate, deactivation ofthe system is recommended).– Dynamic driving style detected, pressure onthe brake or accelerator pedal.– Driving over lane markings.– Activation of the direction indicators.– Crossing the inside line on a bend.– Driving on a tight bend.– Inactivity by the driver detected duringcorrection.– Narrow lane detected. The following situations may interfere withthe operation of the system or prevent itfrom working:– Insufficient contrast between the roadsurface and the verge or hard shoulder (e.g.shade).– Lane markings worn, hidden (e.g. snow, mud) or multiple (e.g. roadworks).– Close proximity to the vehicle in front (lanemarkings may not be detected).– Roads that are narrow, winding.Risk of undesirable operationThe system should be deactivated in thefollowing situations:– When changing a wheel or working near awheel.– Towing or with a bicycle carrier on a towingdevice, especially with trailer not plugged in ornot approved.– Road in poor condition, unstable or with verypoor grip (risk of aquaplaning, snow, ice).– Adverse weather conditions.– Driving on racing circuits.– Driving on a rolling road.Deactivation/ActivationBy default, the system is automatically activatedat every engine start. It is configured in the ADAS touchscreen application.orDirect access to the Shortcuts for driving aids.Deactivation is confirmed by the illu-mination of this indicator lamp on theinstrument panel.MalfunctionThis warning lamp lights up on theinstrument panel with the message"Audible Warning System fault:Repair needed" if the audible warningsystem is in failure. The system may be disturbed or unavailable.Have it checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or aqualified workshop. In the event of a malfunction, these warning lamps lightup on the instrument panel, accompanied by the display ofa message and an audible signal.Have it checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or aqualified workshop. The system is operational again after thedetection field has been cleaned.Lane Departure WarningDue to legal requirements, the systemcan only be deactivated in the vehiclepersonalization until the next time the ignitionis reactivated. The system is automaticallyactivated by default every time the engine isstarted. The lane departure warning system supports thedriver to avoid unintended leaving of the lane. The front camera observes road edges, as wellas the lane markings between which the vehicleis driving. If the vehicle crosses a road edge or alane marking, the system warns the driver.Driving1576
