Theaudible signal stops when the driver's door isclosed.Deactivating automaticoperationIn some situations, for example when it isextremely cold or when towing (e.g. caravan,breakdown), it may be necessary to deactivateautomatic operation of the system.Start the engine.Use the control to apply the parking brake, ifit is released.Take your foot fully off the brake pedal.Push the control for 10 to a maximum of 15seconds.Release the control.Depress and hold the brake pedal.Pull the control for 2 seconds.This indicator lamp on the instrumentpanel comes on to confirm deactiva-tion of the automatic functions.Release the control and the brake pedal.From this point onwards, only the manualfunctions, using the control, allow the parkingbrake to be applied and released.Driving1116
Follow this procedure again to reactivateautomatic operation (confirmed by theindicator lamp on the instrument panel goingout).Emergency brakingIf depressing the brake pedal fails to provideeffective braking or in exceptional circumstances(e.g. driver unwell, assisted driving), thevehicle can be braked by sustained pullingon the electric parking brake control.
