In the event of a fault with the electronickey, contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualifiedworkshop.Emergency switch-offIn case of emergency only, the engine canbe switched off without conditions (even whendriving).►Press the START/STOP button for about 5seconds.Electric parking brakeIn automatic mode, this system applies theparking brake when the engine is switched offand releases it when the vehicle moves off.At any time, with the engine running:►To apply the parking brake, briefly pull thecontrol.►To release it, briefly push the control whilepressing the brake pedal.Automatic mode is activated by default.This automatic operation can be deactivated incertain situations.Indicator lampThis indicator lamp comes on bothon the instrument panel and on thecontrol to confirm that the parkingbrake has been applied, accompaniedby display of the message "Parking brakeapplied".The indicator lamp goes out to confirm therelease of the parking brake, accompanied bythe display of the message "Parking brakereleased".The indicator lamp flashes in response to amanual request to apply or release the brake.In the event of a battery failure, the electricparking brake will not operate.As a safety measure, with an automaticgearbox or drive selector, if the parking brakeis not applied, immobilise the vehicle byplacing the supplied chock against one of thewheels.Contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualifiedworkshop.Before leaving the vehicle, check that theparking brake is applied: the parking brakeindicator lamps on the instrument panel andthe control must be on fixed.If the parking brake is not applied, there is anaudible signal and a message is displayed onopening the driver's door.Never leave a child alone inside thevehicle, as they could release the parkingbrake.When the vehicle is parked: on a steepslope, heavily loaded or during towingWith an automatic gearbox, turn the wheelstoward the pavement and select mode P.When towing, the vehicle is approved forparking on slopes of up to 12%.When the vehicle is parked on a slope, theelectric parking brake must be applied beforeengaging mode P of the automatic gearboxManual operationManual releaseWith the ignition on or engine running:►Press the brake pedal.►While maintaining pressure on the brakepedal, briefly push the control.If the brake pedal is not depressed,the parking brake is not released and amessage is displayed.Driving110

Theaudible signal stops when the driver's door isclosed.Deactivating automaticoperationIn some situations, for example when it isextremely cold or when towing (e.g. caravan,breakdown), it may be necessary to deactivateautomatic operation of the system.►Start the engine.►Use the control to apply the parking brake, ifit is released.►Take your foot fully off the brake pedal.►Push the control for 10 to a maximum of 15seconds.►Release the control.►Depress and hold the brake pedal.►Pull the control for 2 seconds.This indicator lamp on the instrumentpanel comes on to confirm deactiva-tion of the automatic functions.►Release the control and the brake pedal.From this point onwards, only the manualfunctions, using the control, allow the parkingbrake to be applied and released.Driving1116
►Follow this procedure again to reactivateautomatic operation (confirmed by theindicator lamp on the instrument panel goingout).Emergency brakingIf depressing the brake pedal fails to provideeffective braking or in exceptional circumstances(e.g. driver unwell, assisted driving), thevehicle can be braked by sustained pullingon the electric parking brake control. Brakingcontinuesfor as long as the control is kept pulled,and ceases when the control is released.TheABS and DSC systems stabilise the vehicleduring emergency braking.If emergency brakingmalfunctions, the message "Parking brakefault" will be displayed on the instrument panel.If the ABS and DSC systemsmalfunction, indicated bylighting one or both warninglamps on the instrument panel,the vehicle’s stability is no longer ensured.►In this case, ensure the vehicle's stabilityby successive and repeated "pull-release"actions on the electric parking brake controluntil the vehicle comes to a complete stop.Automatic gearbox(EAT6)6-speed automatic gearbox with push selectorfor petrol vehicles.It also offers a manual mode with gear changesvia control paddles located behind the steeringwheel.Push selectorP.Auto ParkPress this button to switch to Parkingmode.For parking the vehicle: the front wheelsare blocked.R.ReverseN.NeutralTo free-wheel and move the vehicle, withthe ignition off.For more information on Free-wheeling,refer to the corresponding section.D.Driving in automatic modeThe gearbox manages gear changesaccording to the style of driving, the roadprofile and the vehicle load.The gearbox also manages braking whenthe accelerator pedal is released.M.Driving in manual modePress this button to switch to manualmode.The driver changes gear using thesteeringmounted controls.►In mode N, with your foot on the brake pedal,push without passing the point of resistance:• Forwards, mode R is selected.• Backwards, mode D is selected.Release the selector fully after each push; itwill then return to its initial position.Special casesTo avoid mode N (quick change from D to R andback again):►In mode R, push backwards past the point ofresistance, mode D is selected.►In mode D, push forwards past the point ofresistance, mode R is selected.►To return to mode N, push without passingthe point of resistance.Steering-mounted controls(Depending on equipment)In mode M or D, the steering-mounted controlpaddles can be used to change gear manually.They cannot be used to select neutral or toengage or disengage reverse gear.►Pull the "+" or "-" paddle towards youand release to shift up or down a gear,respectively.Driving112
