Owner Manuals

Peugeot 5008 2024- 2025 Owner's Manual Driving Driving and manoeuvring aids - General recommendations

The loss of pressure detected may notalways cause visible deformation of thetyre.Do not rely on just a visual check.Using a compressor, such as the one inthe temporary puncture repair kit, check thepressures of all four tyres when cold.If it is not possible to carry out thischeck immediately, drive carefully at reducedspeed. In the event of a puncture, use the temporarypuncture repair kit or the spare wheel(depending on equipment).Driving too slowly may not ensureoptimum monitoring. The alert is not immediately triggered in theevent of a sudden loss of pressure or tyreblow-out. This is because analysis of thevalues read by the wheel's speed sensorscan take several minutes. The alert may be delayed at speeds below 25mph (40 km/h), or when adopting a dynamicdriving style. The alert is kept active until the system isreinitialised.ReinitialisationThe system must be reinitialised after anyadjustment to the pressure of one or more tyres, and after changing one or more wheels. Before reinitialising the system, make surethat the pressures of the four tyres arecorrect for the conditions of use of the vehicleand conform to the values written on the tyrepressure label.Check the pressures of the four tyres beforeperforming the reinitialisation. The system does not advise if a pressure isincorrect at the time of reinitialisation. With the vehicle stationary, the sys-tem can be reinitialised in the Set-tings>Vehicle touch screen applica-tion.Then select Safety > Tire Pressure Setup.Press YES to confirm. The reinitialisation is confirmed by the display ofa message and an audible signal.MalfunctionIn the event of a malfunction, these warning lamps light upon the instrument panel.A message appears, accompanied by an audible signal. In this case, the tyre under-inflation monitoringfunction is no longer performed.Have it checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or aqualified workshop.Non-standard or 'space-saver' sparewheelThe use of this type of spare wheel maysuspend tyre pressure monitoring. In this case, the malfunction warning lampcomes on and disappears once the wheel hasbeen replaced by one of uniform size (thesame as the others), the pressure readjustedand the reinitialisation carried out.Driving and manoeuvringaids - GeneralrecommendationsDriving and manoeuvring aids cannot, inany circumstances, replace the need forvigilance on the part of the driver. The driver must comply with the HighwayCode, must remain in control of the vehicle inall circumstances and must be able to retakecontrol of it at all times. The driver must adaptthe speed to climatic conditions, traffic andthe state of the road.It is the driver's responsibility to constantlymonitor traffic conditions, assess the distanceand relative speed of other vehicles, andanticipate their manoeuvres before using thedirection indicator and changing lanes. These systems do not make it possible toexceed the laws of physics.Driving1256
Driving aidsYou should hold the steering wheel withboth hands, always use the door and interiormirrors, always leave your feet close to thepedals and take a break every 2 hours.Manoeuvring aidsThe driver must always check thesurroundings of the vehicle before and duringthe whole manoeuvre, in particular using themirrors.Radar(s)The operation of the radar(s), along withany associated functions, may be affectedby the accumulation of dirt (e.g. mud, ice),in poor weather conditions (e.g. heavy rain, snow), by the masking of the detection zonewith adhesive labels or other objects, or if thebumpers are damaged. If the front or rear bumper is to be repainted, contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualifiedworkshop; certain types of paint couldinterfere with the operation of the radar(s).Take care not to cover the detection zoneson the front and rear bumpers with adhesivelabels or other objects; they may hampercorrect operation of the associated system.Driving aids cameraThis camera and its associated functionsmay be impaired or not work if thewindscreen area in front of the camerais dirty, misty, frosty, covered with snow, damaged or masked by a sticker. In humid and cold weather, demist thewindscreen regularly.Poor visibility (e.g. inadequate street lighting, heavy rain, thick fog, snowfall), dazzle (e.g.headlamps of an oncoming vehicle, low sun, reflections on a damp road, leaving a tunnel, alternating shade and light) can also impairdetection performance. In the event of a windscreen replacement, contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualifiedworkshop to recalibrate the camera;otherwise, the operation of the associateddriving aids may be disrupted.Other camerasThe images from the camera(s) displayedon the touch screen or on the instrumentpanel may be distorted by the terrain. In the presence of areas in shade, or inconditions of bright sunlight or inadequatelighting, the image may be darkened and withlower contrast.Obstacles may appear further away than theyactually are.SensorsThe operation of the sensors, as well asany associated functions, may be disruptedby noise pollution such as that emitted bynoisy vehicles and machinery (e.g. lorries, pneumatic drills), by the accumulation ofsnow or dead leaves on the road or in theevent of damaged bumpers and mirrors. When reverse gear is engaged, an audiblesignal (long beep) indicates that the sensorsmay be dirty.A front or rear impact to the vehicle canupset the sensors’ settings, which is notalways detected by the system: distancemeasurements may be distorted. The sensors do not systematically detectobstacles that are too low (pavements, studs)or too thin (trees, posts, wire fences).Certain obstacles located in the sensors’ blindspots may not be detected or may no longerbe detected during the manoeuvre.Certain materials (fabrics) absorb soundwaves: pedestrians may not be detected.MaintenanceClean the bumpers and door mirrors andthe field of vision of the cameras regularly. When washing your vehicle at high pressure, direct the spray from at least 30 cm awayfrom the radar, sensors and cameras.Driving126
Mats/Pedal trimsThe use of mats or pedal trims notapproved by PEUGEOT may interfere withthe operation of the speed limiter or cruisecontrol. To avoid any risk of jamming the pedals:– Ensure that the mat is secured correctly.– Never fit one mat on top of another.Units of speedEnsure that the units of speed displayedon the instrument panel (mph or km/h) arethose for the country you are driving in.If this is not the case, when the vehicle isstationary, set the display to the required unitsof speed so that it complies with what isauthorised locally. In case of doubt, contact a PEUGEOT dealeror a qualified workshop.Legal ObligationsIn order to comply with European regulationsand for safety reasons, these functions cannotbe partially or totally deactivated by the driver :- Speed Limit Information in the Road signsrecognition system.- Active Safety Brake/Collision Risk Alert- Lane Keeping Assist- Driver Attention Warning- Parking sensors.Steering wheel withhands-on detection(with Drive Assist Plus 2.0)For more information, refer to the Generalrecommendations on the use of drivingand manoeuvring aids. The steering wheel is equipped with a hands-ondetection system to avoid distraction on the partof the driver. It is prohibited to cover or attach anything to thesteering wheel. The driver must always check thesurroundings of the vehicle and supervisethe whole manoeuvre.Any use of a system built into Drive AssistPlus 2.0 must remain under the driver’svigilance. The system also detects the presence ofhands when using the Lane Positioning assistsystem with Drive Assist Plus. The system may suffer interference or notwork correctly if:– the steering wheel is covered by someprotection.– the driver wears thick gloves (e.g. skigloves). In the event of improper detection of handson the steering wheel, Drive Assist Plus 2.0is not activated or is deactivated after a fewseconds.Installation of mechanical anti-theftdevices on the steering wheel is prohibited- risk of damage!Shortcuts for driving aidsThe full list of available driving aids can be foundin the Functions tab.Driving aids can be accessed directly to quicklyactivate/deactivate them.By default, driving aids are already stored in theShortcuts tab (e.g. Stop & Start, Lane keepingassist).Other driving aids can be added or deleted fromthis tab.It is configured in the ADAS>Func-tions touch screen application.Press the button corresponding tothe driving assistance concerned:• Full symbol: the function is added to theShortcuts tab.• Empty symbol: the function is deleted from theShortcuts tab.Check the modification in the Shortcuts tab.Driving1276
