Peugeot 5008 2024- 2025 Owner's Manual Driving

Driving recommendationsObserve the driving regulations and remainvigilant whatever the traffic conditions.Monitor your environment and keep yourhands on the wheel to be able to react toanything that may happen any time.Drive smoothly, anticipate the need forbraking and maintain a longer safetydistance, especially in bad weather.Stop the vehicle before performingoperations that require sustained attention(e.g. settings).During long trips, take a break every 2 hours.Important!Never leave the engine running ina closed space without sufficientventilation. Internal combustion enginesemit toxic exhaust gases such as carbonmonoxide. Danger of poisoning and death! In very severe wintry conditions(temperature below -23°C), let the enginerun for 4 minutes before moving off, toensure the correct operation and durability ofthe mechanical components of your vehicle(engine and gearbox).Never drive with the parking brakeapplied. Risk of overheating anddamaging the braking system!Never park the vehicle and never leavethe engine running on a flammablesurface (e.g. dry grass, dead leaves). Thevehicle exhaust system is very hot, evenseveral minutes after the engine stops. Riskof fire!Never drive on surfaces covered withvegetation (e.g. tall grass, accumulateddead leaves, crops, debris) such as a field,a country lane overgrown with bushes or agrassy verge. This vegetation could come into contact withthe vehicle's exhaust system or other systemswhich are very hot. Risk of fire!Make sure you do not leave any item inthe passenger compartment which couldact like a magnifying glass under the effect ofthe sun's rays and cause a fire. Risk of fire ordamage to interior surfaces!Never leave the vehicle unattended, with the engine running. If you have toleave your vehicle with the engine running, apply the parking brake and put the gearboxor drive selector into neutral or position N or P(depending on version).Never leave children inside the vehicleunsupervised. On flooded roadsWe strongly advise against driving on floodedroads, as this could cause serious damage tothe internal combustion engine or electric motor, the gearbox and the electrical systems of thevehicle.Check that the depth of the water does notexceed 15 cm, taking account of waves thatmight be generated by other users.Deactivate the Stop & Start function.Drive as slowly as possible without stalling. Inall cases, do not exceed 6 mph (10 km/h).Do not stop and do not switch off the engine. On leaving the flooded road, as soon assafety conditions allow, make several light brakeapplications to dry the brake discs and pads.If in doubt about the state of your vehicle, contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualifiedworkshop.Noise (Electric)On the outsideDue to the vehicle’s quiet operation whendriving, the driver must pay particular attention. When manoeuvring, the driver must alwayscheck the vehicle's immediate surroundings.Driving106
At speeds of up to 19 mph (30 km/h), thepedestrian horn warns other road users of thevehicle’s presence.Cooling the traction battery The coolingfan comes on during charging to cool theon-board charger and the traction battery. On the insideDuring use, you may hear certain perfectlynormal noises specific to electric vehicles, suchas:– Traction battery relay when starting.– Vacuum pump when braking.– Vehicle tyres or aerodynamics when driving.– Jolting and knocking noise during hill starts.TowingDriving with a trailer places greaterdemands on the towing vehicle andparticular care must be taken.Do not exceed the maximum towableweights. At altitude: reduce the maximum load by10% per 1,000 metres of altitude; the lowerair density at high altitudes decreases engineperformance.New vehicle: do not tow a trailer untilthe vehicle has driven at least 620 miles(1,000 kilometres). If the outside temperature is high, let theengine idle for 1 to 2 minutes after thevehicle comes to a stop, to help it to cool. Before setting offNose weightDistribute the load in the trailer so thatthe heaviest items are located as close aspossible to the axle, and the nose weight(at the point where it joins your vehicle)approaches the maximum permitted, withoutexceeding it.TyresCheck the tyre pressures of the towingvehicle and of the trailer, observing therecommended pressures.LightingCheck the electrical signalling on the trailerand the headlamp beam height of yourvehicle. If a genuine PEUGEOT towing device isused, the rear parking sensors will bedeactivated automatically to avoid activatingthe audible signal. When drivingCoolingTowing a trailer uphill causes the coolanttemperature to increase. The maximum towableload depends on the gradient and the exteriortemperature. The fan’s cooling capacity does notincrease with engine speed.Reduce speed and lower the engine speed tolimit the amount of heating produced.Pay constant attention to the coolanttemperature. If this warning lamp andthe STOP warning lampcome on, stop the vehicleand switch off the engineas soon as possible.BrakesUsing the engine brake is recommended to limitthe overheating of the brakes. Braking distancesare increased when towing a trailer.Side windBear in mind that the vehicle will be moresusceptible to wind when towing.Anti-theft protectionElectronic immobiliserThe keys contain a code, which must berecognised by the vehicle before starting ispossible. If the system malfunctions, indicated by thedisplay of a message, the engine will not start.Contact a PEUGEOT dealer.Driving1076
The electronic key must be present in thepassenger compartment. The electronic key is also detected in theboot. If the electronic key is not detected, amessage is displayed.Move the electronic key so that the enginecan be started or switched off.If there is still a problem, refer to the "Keynot detected - Back-up starting or Back-upswitch-off" section.StartingSelect mode P or N on the automaticgearbox, then depress the brake pedal.Press the "START/STOP" button whilemaintaining pressure on the pedal until theengine starts. In all circumstances, if one of the startingconditions is not met, a message is displayed. In some circumstances, a message indicatesthat it is necessary to turn the steering wheelwhile pressing the "START/STOP" button toassist unlocking of the steering column.Petrol enginesAfter a cold start, pre-heating the catalyticconverter can cause noticeable enginevibrations, for anything up to 2 minutes(accelerated idle speed).Hybrid enginesThe vehicle always starts with the petrolengine to ensure the efficiency of the catalyticconverter and the availability of the brakeassist. After a few moments, the petrol engine maystop if the operating conditions allow (stateof charge of the traction battery, externaltemperature, torque demand, selected drivingmode).Starting rechargeablehybrid vehiclesFully depress the brake pedal and pressthe START/STOP button for approximately 2seconds.Keep the foot on the pedal until the READYindicator lamp comes on, indicating theactivation of the rechargeable hybrid system(confirmed by an audible signal). To exit Park mode, wait for the READYindicator lamp to come on.By default, the system starts in Electric mode.Depending on certain parameters (batterycharge level or outside temperature), the systemdetermines whether it is necessary to start thepetrol engine. It is possible to change the driving mode at anytime using the mode selector. When the vehicle starts in electric mode, itmakes no noise.Pay particular attention to pedestrians andcyclists who may not hear the vehicle comingdespite the pedestrian horn.Switching offImmobilise the vehicle using the parkingbrake.Select mode P on the automatic gearbox.Press the START/STOP button. For rechargeable hybrid vehicles, beforeleaving the vehicle, check that the READYindicator lamp is switched off.The automatic gearbox locks in mode P.If the vehicle is not immobilised, theengine will not stop. With the engine off, the braking andsteering assistance systems are also cutoff - risk of loss of control of the vehicle!Never leave your vehicle with theelectronic key still inside.Driving108Starting/switching off theengine

When the driverDriving116
releases the accelerator pedal, the vehicle slowsdown more quickly. The energy recovered when the acceleratorpedal is released is used to partially rechargethe traction battery. This partial recharging has no effect on thecharge level indicator. The resulting deceleration of the vehicledoes not cause the brake lamps to comeon. From mode D, press button B to activate/deactivate the function.D on the instrument panel is replaced with B.The state of the function is not saved when theignition is switched off.In some situations (e.g. battery full, extreme temperatures), the amount ofregenerative braking may be temporarilylimited, resulting in less deceleration. The driver must remain alert to trafficconditions and must always be ready to usethe brake pedal.Regenerative braking using the brakepedalEnergy recovery can also be produced bydepressing the brake pedal in order topartially recharge the traction battery, withoutaffecting the charge level indicator.Starting the vehicleFully depress the brake pedal.Start the petrol engine by depressing thebrake pedal until the engine is running at astabilised engine speed. With your foot on the brake pedal, push onceor twice backwards to select automatic modeD, or forwards to shift into reverse gear R.Release the brake pedal.Accelerate gradually to automatically releasethe electric parking brake. The petrol engine may stop after the first start ifoperating conditions allow (e.g. state of chargeof the traction battery, external temperature, efficiency of the catalytic converter, torquedemand, selected driving mode, thermal comfortof the passenger compartment). Then, the vehicle moves off immediately inallelectric (e-Launch function).Switching the vehicle offRegardless of the current gearbox mode, modeP is immediately engaged automatically whenthe ignition is switched off. However, in mode N, mode P will be engagedafter a delay of 5 seconds (time to enablefreewheeling mode).Check that mode P has been engaged andthat the electric parking brake was appliedautomatically; if not, apply it manually. The corresponding indicator lampson the gear selector and the electricparking brake control must be on, aswell as the indicator lamps on the in-strument panel.Gearbox malfunctionThis warning lamp comes on, accom-panied by an audible signal and thedisplay of a message.Go to a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualifiedworkshop.Do not drive faster than 62 mph (100 km/h),keeping to the speed limit.Switching of the gearbox to back-up modeDepending on the malfunction, the gearbox onlyshifts in odd or even gears, locks in one gear orloses some gears. For hybrid vehicles, the paddles on the steeringwheel do not work and mode M is no longeraccessible. You may feel a significant jolt on engagingreverse gear. This will not damage the gearbox.Selector malfunctionMinor malfunctionThis warning lamp comes on, accom-panied by the display of a messageand an audible signal.Drive carefully.Go to a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualifiedworkshop. In some cases, the selector indicator lamps mayno longer come on, but the gearbox state is stilldisplayed on the instrument panel.Driving1176
Major malfunctionThis warning lamp comes on, accom-panied by the display of a message. You must stop the vehicle.Stop as soon as it is safe to do so andswitch off the ignition.Contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualifiedworkshop.Drive selector (Electric)The drive selector is a pulse selector witha regenerative braking function for electricvehicles. The drive selector provides traction controlbased on the driving style, the road profile andthe vehicle load.It also manages engine braking when theaccelerator pedal is released.P.ParkButton for parking the vehicle: the frontwheels are locked (the button lights up toindicate that it is activated).R.ReverseTo engage reverse gear, with the foot onthe brake pedal.N.NeutralTo move the vehicle with the ignition offand so allow it to free-wheel.For more information on Free-wheeling,refer to the corresponding section.D.Drive (automatic forward gear) with anintegrated regenerative braking functionSteering-mounted controlsWith the brake level selection, thesteeringmounted control paddles are used tochange the deceleration level.Pull the "+" or "-" paddle towards you andrelease to decrease or increase deceleration, respectively.Information displayed onthe instrument panelWhen the ignition is switched on, the driveselector status is displayed on the instrumentpanel:P: ParkR: Reverse.N: Neutral.D: Drive (automatic forward gear) withregenerative braking function.OperationIn mode N,with your foot on the brake pedal, push without passing the point of resistance:• Forwards, mode R is selected.• Backwards, mode D is selected.Release the selector fully after each push; itwill then return to its initial position.Special casesTo avoid mode N (quick change from D to R andback again):In mode R, push backwards past the point ofresistance, mode D is selected. In mode D, push forwards past the point ofresistance, mode R is selected. To return to mode N, push without passingthe point of resistance.Driving118
Regenerative brakingWith the Brake level function and whendeceleratingThe Brake level function emulates enginebraking with three deceleration levels, slowingthe vehicle with no need to depress the brakepedal. The vehicle slows more quickly when thedriver releases the accelerator pedal. The energy recovered when the acceleratorpedal is released is then used to partiallyrecharge the traction battery, thereby increasingthe vehicle's driving range. The resulting deceleration of the vehicledoes not cause the brake lamps to comeon. From mode D, use the control paddles todecrease or increase the deceleration. For each level of deceleration, the informationappears on the dashboard in the form of one ormany more "down" arrows close to D.The deceleration level is not saved when theignition is switched off.If the function does not work, a message isdisplayed on the dashboard. In some situations (e.g. battery full, extreme temperatures), the amount ofregenerative braking may be temporarilylimited, resulting in less deceleration. The driver must remain alert to trafficconditions and must always be ready to usethe brake pedal. With the brake pedalWhen the brake pedal is depressed, theintelligent braking system automatically recoverssome of the energy and uses it to recharge thetraction battery. This energy recovery also reduces use of thebrake pads, thereby limiting their wear. The driver may experience a differentsensation when depressing the brakepedal compared to a vehicle withoutregenerative braking.Driving modesThe driving modes available depend on theengine and equipment of the vehicle.Driving modes are selected using the followingcontrol:Press the control to display the modes on thetouch screen.Select the desired driving mode on the leftside of the window.Close the window by clicking the cross. With an electric vehicle, when starting thevehicle, no mode can be selected until theREADY indicator lamp is displayed. When the message disappears, the selectedmode is activated and remains indicated on theinstrument panel (except Normal mode). The selected mode is activated immediately. With the Advanced Grip Control system, additional driving modes are available. For more information on Advanced GripControl, refer to the corresponding section.Driving1196
EcoTo reduce energy consumption by reducing theperformance of the heating and air conditioning, without deactivating them.SportWith an automatic gearbox: to obtain moredynamic driving with action on the powersteering, accelerator, gear changes, displayingthe vehicle’s dynamic settings on the instrumentpanel (depending on version) and activation/deactivation of the display colour (depending onversion). The selection of the Sport mode deactivates theStop & Start function / e-Auto mode.Coasting mode (Petrol)Depending on version and engine, withthe gear selector in mode D, in Eco andNormal modes, gradually and fully releasingthe accelerator pedal allows free-wheelingwhich can save fuel.A drop in engine speed is normal (rev counterat idle, drop in engine noise). For rechargeable hybridversionsWhenever the ignition is switched on, Electricdriving mode is selected by default.ElectricAllows driving using 100% electrical energy. The maximum speed is approximately 84 mph(135 km/h).When starting the vehicle, if the conditions donot allow the activation or retention of Electricmode, the message "Electric mode currentlyunavailable" is displayed on the instrumentpanel. The vehicle automatically changes toHybrid mode.Conditions of activation– Adequate battery charge level. Chargingthe vehicle after each drive is thereforerecommended. Electric mode is available aslong as there is power left in the battery.– Outside temperature between approximately-5°C and 45°C.Manually exiting the modeFully depress the accelerator pedal, orSelect another mode.In case of non-use of the vehicle for a longperiod (several months), a restart of thepetrol engine may occur even if the battery ischarged. In the event of multiple starts of theinternal combustion engine without asufficient rise in temperature, Electric modemay be temporarily unavailable (naturalphenomenon of dilution of fuel in oil). The message "Electric mode unavailable:automatic operation in progress" thenappears on the instrument panel. To regain normal electrical operation, driveapproximately 50 miles (80 km) in "motorway"conditions or approximately 125 miles (200km) in urban conditions. This phenomenon does not cause anymechanical or electrical damage. It can occurseveral times in the life of the vehicle.HybridTo optimise the vehicle's fuel consumption bymanaging the alternating or simultaneousoperation of the two types of engine, depending on driving conditions and drivingstyle. In Hybrid mode, it is possible to drive in100% electric mode if the battery charge levelis sufficient and acceleration requirements aremoderate.SportTo obtain more dynamic driving in order tobenefit from the maximum performance of thevehicle.Electric power is used to supplement the petrolengine as long as there is energy left in thebattery.Driving120For petrol/hybrid versionsWhenever the ignition is switched on, Normaldriving mode is selected by default.NormalTo restore the default settings.
Kick-downIn Normal and Eco modes, it is alwayspossible to obtain maximum torque andpower by depressing the accelerator pedalfully.SportEnables more dynamic driving, acting on thepower steering, accelerator and gear changeswith a drive selector and the possibility ofdisplaying the vehicle’s dynamic settings on theinstrument panel.4WD (4-wheel drive)In addition to the driving modes, Normal, Ecoand Sport, some electric vehicles have thisspecial mode.Improves the vehicle's grip at low and moderatespeeds by driving all 4 wheels continuously.4WD mode (4-wheel drive) is especially suitedto driving on snow-covered roads and difficultterrain (e.g. mud, sand) as well as fordcrossings, at moderate speed. If the system does not detect a situation of wheelslipping or poor grip after 300 metres of driving,it switches to Normal mode. This mode will be even more effective ifthe vehicle is fitted with suitable tyres, such as winter tyres. The grip can be improved up to 84 mph (135km/h); above this speed, the vehicle is driven bythe front wheels only.Hill start assistThis system keeps the vehicle briefly stationary(for approximately 2 seconds) when making a hillstart, while you transfer your foot from the brakepedal to the accelerator pedal. The system is only active when:– The vehicle is completely stationary, with yourfoot on the brake pedal.– Certain slope conditions are met.– The driver’s door is closed.Do not leave the vehicle while it is beingheld temporarily by hill start assist. If someone needs to get out of the vehiclewith the engine running, apply the parkingbrake manually. Then check that the parkingbrake indicator lamp and the P indicator lampin the electric parking brake control are onfixed. The hill start assist function cannot bedeactivated. However, using the parkingbrake to immobilise the vehicle interrupts itsoperation.OperationFacing uphill, with the vehicle stationary, thevehicle is held for a short time when thedriver releases the brake pedal:– If mode D, M or B is selected on an automaticgearbox.– If mode D is selected on the drive selector.Facing downhill, with the vehicle stationaryand reverse gear engaged, the vehicle is heldfor a short time when the driver releases thebrake pedal.MalfunctionIf the event of a malfunc-tion, these warning lampslight up on the instrumentpanel, accompanied by thedisplay of a message.Have it checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or aqualified workshop.Driving1216NormalThis optimises the driving range and dynamicperformance.EcoOptimises energy consumption, by reducingthe output of the heating and air conditioning(without actually deactivating them) and limitingboth motor torque and power. For electric versionsEach time the ignition is switched on, Normalmode is selected by default.
Gear shift indicator(Depending on engine)This system is designed to reduce fuelconsumption by recommending the mostsuitable gear.OperationDepending on the driving situation andthe vehicle's equipment, the system mayrecommend skipping one or more gears.Gear engagement recommendations are notto be considered mandatory. Indeed, theconfiguration of the road, the traffic densityand safety remain determining factors whenchoosing the best gear. Therefore, the driverremains responsible for deciding whether or notto follow the system’s advice. The system cannot be deactivated. The system is only active in mode M of theautomatic gearbox. The information appears on the in-strument panel, in the form of an ar-row and the recommended gear. The system adapts the gear changeinstructions according to the drivingconditions (e.g. slope, load) and driving style(e.g. power demand, acceleration, braking). The system never suggests:– engaging first gear.– engaging reverse gear.Stop & Start (Petrol)The Stop & Start function puts the enginetemporarily into standby - STOP mode - duringphases when the vehicle is stationary (e.g. redlights, traffic jams). The engine automaticallyrestarts - START mode - as soon as the driverindicates the intention of moving off again.Primarily designed for urban use, the functionis intended to reduce fuel consumption andexhaust emissions as well as the noise levelwhen stationary. The function does not affect the functionalities ofthe vehicle, in particular the braking.Deactivation/ReactivationBy default, the function is activated when theignition is switched on.It is configured in the ADAS touchscreen application.orDirect access to the Shortcuts for driving aids. The display of a message on the instrumentpanel confirms the change of state. If the function is deactivated while the engine isin STOP mode, it will restart immediately.Associated indicator lampsFunction activated: engine on stand-by (STOP mode)Function deactivated or malfunctionOpening the bonnetBefore doing anything under the bonnet, deactivate the Stop & Start system to avoidany risk of injury caused by the enginerestarting automatically.Driving on flooded roadsBefore entering into a flooded area, it isstrongly recommended that you deactivatethe Stop & Start system. For more information on Drivingrecommendations, particularly on floodedroads, refer to the corresponding section.OperationMain conditions for operation– The driver’s door must be closed.– The driver's seat belt must be fastened.– The level of charge in the battery must besufficient.– The temperature of the engine must be withinits nominal operating range.– The outside temperature must be between 0°Cand 35°C.Driving122
Putting the engine into standby (STOPmode)The engine automatically enters standby modeas soon as the driver indicates their intention tostop:– With the gear selector set to mode D or withthe button M pressed, when the brake pedal isdepressed until the vehicle stops.– With the gear selector set to mode N, with thevehicle stationary.Time counterA time counter adds up the time spent in standbyduring the journey. It is reset to zero every timethe ignition is switched on.Special casesThe engine will not go into standby if theconditions for operation are not met and in thefollowing cases:– Steep slope (ascending or descending).– Sport mode selected (depending onequipment).– Needed to maintain a comfortable temperaturein the passenger compartment.– Demisting active. In these cases, this indicator lampflashes for a few seconds, then goesoff. After the engine has restarted, STOPmode is not available until the vehicle hasreached a speed of 5 mph (8 km/h).During parking manoeuvres, STOP modeis not available for a few seconds aftercoming out of reverse gear or turning thesteering wheel.Restarting the engine (START mode)The engine automatically restarts as soon as thedriver indicates the intention of moving off again:With a manual gearbox:when the clutch pedalis fully depressed. With an automatic gearbox:– With the selector in mode D or M: when thebrake pedal is released.– With the selector in mode N and the brakepedal released: when the mode D or M isselected.– With the selector in mode P and the brakepedal depressed: when the mode R, N, D or M isselected.– When the reverse gear is engaged.Special casesThe engine will restart automatically if theconditions for operation are met again and in thefollowing cases:– Deselecting the Sport mode (depending onequipment).– Automatic gearbox in mode N, vehicle speedexceeds 0.6 mph (1 km/h).In these cases, this indicator lampflashes for a few seconds, then goesoff.MalfunctionsIn the event of a fault with the sys-tem, this warning lamp flashes for afew moments on the instrument pan-el, then remains on, accompanied bythe display of a message.Have it checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or aqualified workshop. The vehicle stalls in STOP modeAll of the instrument panel warning lamps comeon if there is a fault.Switch off the ignition then start the engineagain with the START/STOP button.12 V batteryThe Stop & Start system requires a12 V battery of specific technology andspecification. All work must be carried out only by aPEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.e-Auto mode (Hybrid)The petrol engine stops when low power ortorque is required and in stabilised conditions. The petrol engine is restarted by the belt starter. The e-Auto mode can switch off the petrolengine in the following cases:– When the operating strategies permit.– Vehicle speed up to 90 mph (145 km/h).– When the driver releases the accelerator pedalin stabilised conditions or in deceleration.– During the stop phases.Driving1236
Restarting is only achieved by the belt starteruntil the torque demand is available, if thetraction battery is sufficiently charged. When thetorque demand is insufficient, the petrol enginerestarts.Using the steering wheel paddles alsocauses the restarting of petrol engine. The e-Auto mode cannot switch off thepetrol engine in the following cases:– The state of charge is less than 30% of thetraction battery energy.– There is a need for vacuum brake assistdepending on the altitude.– The Sport mode is selected.– Maintaining thermal comfort in the passengercompartment (heating, air conditioning,demisting/defrosting).Deactivation/ReactivationBy default, the function is activated when theignition is switched on.It is configured in the ADAS touchscreen application.or Direct access to the Shortcuts for drivingaids. The display of a message on the instrumentpanel confirms the change of state.Function deactivated, this indicatorlights up in the instrument panel. If high traction is required, the driver candeactivate the e-Auto mode using thetouch screen application.Tyre under-inflationdetectionThis system alerts the driver if one or more tyressuffer a drop in pressure. The alert is raised when the vehicle is moving, not when stationary. It compares the information given by the wheelspeed sensors with reference values, whichmust be reinitialised every time the tyrepressures are adjusted or a wheel changed. It takes into account the last values storedduring the reinitialisation request. It is thereforeessential that the tyre pressure is correct duringthe operation. This operation is the driver’sresponsibility. The tyre under-inflation detection cannot,in any circumstances, replace the need forvigilance on the part of the driver. This system does not avoid the need toregularly check the tyre pressures (includingthe spare wheel), especially before a longjourney.Driving with under-inflated tyres, particularlyin adverse conditions (heavy load, highspeed, long journey):– worsens road-holding.– lengthens braking distances.– causes premature wear of the tyres.– increases energy consumption. The inflation pressures defined for thevehicle can be found on the tire pressurelabel. For more information on the Identificationmarkings, refer to the corresponding section.Checking tyre pressuresThis check should be done monthly whenthe tyres are "cold" (vehicle stopped for 1hour or after a journey of less than 6 miles(10 km) at moderate speeds).Otherwise, add 0.3 bar to the pressuresshown on the label.Snow chainsThe system does not have to bereinitialised after fitting or removing snowchains.Under-inflation alertThis is signalled by the fixed illumi-nation of this warning lamp, accom-panied by an audible signal and, de-pending on equipment, the display ofa message.Reduce speed immediately, avoid excessivesteering movements and avoid suddenbraking.Stop the vehicle as soon as it is safe to doso.Driving124
The loss of pressure detected may notalways cause visible deformation of thetyre.Do not rely on just a visual check.Using a compressor, such as the one inthe temporary puncture repair kit, check thepressures of all four tyres when cold.If it is not possible to carry out thischeck immediately, drive carefully at reducedspeed. In the event of a puncture, use the temporarypuncture repair kit or the spare wheel(depending on equipment).Driving too slowly may not ensureoptimum monitoring. The alert is not immediately triggered in theevent of a sudden loss of pressure or tyreblow-out. This is because analysis of thevalues read by the wheel's speed sensorscan take several minutes. The alert may be delayed at speeds below 25mph (40 km/h), or when adopting a dynamicdriving style. The alert is kept active until the system isreinitialised.ReinitialisationThe system must be reinitialised after anyadjustment to the pressure of one or more tyres, and after changing one or more wheels. Before reinitialising the system, make surethat the pressures of the four tyres arecorrect for the conditions of use of the vehicleand conform to the values written on the tyrepressure label.Check the pressures of the four tyres beforeperforming the reinitialisation. The system does not advise if a pressure isincorrect at the time of reinitialisation. With the vehicle stationary, the sys-tem can be reinitialised in the Set-tings>Vehicle touch screen applica-tion.Then select Safety > Tire Pressure Setup.Press YES to confirm. The reinitialisation is confirmed by the display ofa message and an audible signal.MalfunctionIn the event of a malfunction, these warning lamps light upon the instrument panel.A message appears, accompanied by an audible signal. In this case, the tyre under-inflation monitoringfunction is no longer performed.Have it checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or aqualified workshop.Non-standard or 'space-saver' sparewheelThe use of this type of spare wheel maysuspend tyre pressure monitoring. In this case, the malfunction warning lampcomes on and disappears once the wheel hasbeen replaced by one of uniform size (thesame as the others), the pressure readjustedand the reinitialisation carried out.Driving and manoeuvringaids - GeneralrecommendationsDriving and manoeuvring aids cannot, inany circumstances, replace the need forvigilance on the part of the driver. The driver must comply with the HighwayCode, must remain in control of the vehicle inall circumstances and must be able to retakecontrol of it at all times. The driver must adaptthe speed to climatic conditions, traffic andthe state of the road.It is the driver's responsibility to constantlymonitor traffic conditions, assess the distanceand relative speed of other vehicles, andanticipate their manoeuvres before using thedirection indicator and changing lanes. These systems do not make it possible toexceed the laws of physics.Driving1256
Driving aidsYou should hold the steering wheel withboth hands, always use the door and interiormirrors, always leave your feet close to thepedals and take a break every 2 hours.Manoeuvring aidsThe driver must always check thesurroundings of the vehicle before and duringthe whole manoeuvre, in particular using themirrors.Radar(s)The operation of the radar(s), along withany associated functions, may be affectedby the accumulation of dirt (e.g. mud, ice),in poor weather conditions (e.g. heavy rain, snow), by the masking of the detection zonewith adhesive labels or other objects, or if thebumpers are damaged. If the front or rear bumper is to be repainted, contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualifiedworkshop; certain types of paint couldinterfere with the operation of the radar(s).Take care not to cover the detection zoneson the front and rear bumpers with adhesivelabels or other objects; they may hampercorrect operation of the associated system.Driving aids cameraThis camera and its associated functionsmay be impaired or not work if thewindscreen area in front of the camerais dirty, misty, frosty, covered with snow, damaged or masked by a sticker. In humid and cold weather, demist thewindscreen regularly.Poor visibility (e.g. inadequate street lighting, heavy rain, thick fog, snowfall), dazzle (e.g.headlamps of an oncoming vehicle, low sun, reflections on a damp road, leaving a tunnel, alternating shade and light) can also impairdetection performance. In the event of a windscreen replacement, contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualifiedworkshop to recalibrate the camera;otherwise, the operation of the associateddriving aids may be disrupted.Other camerasThe images from the camera(s) displayedon the touch screen or on the instrumentpanel may be distorted by the terrain. In the presence of areas in shade, or inconditions of bright sunlight or inadequatelighting, the image may be darkened and withlower contrast.Obstacles may appear further away than theyactually are.SensorsThe operation of the sensors, as well asany associated functions, may be disruptedby noise pollution such as that emitted bynoisy vehicles and machinery (e.g. lorries, pneumatic drills), by the accumulation ofsnow or dead leaves on the road or in theevent of damaged bumpers and mirrors. When reverse gear is engaged, an audiblesignal (long beep) indicates that the sensorsmay be dirty.A front or rear impact to the vehicle canupset the sensors’ settings, which is notalways detected by the system: distancemeasurements may be distorted. The sensors do not systematically detectobstacles that are too low (pavements, studs)or too thin (trees, posts, wire fences).Certain obstacles located in the sensors’ blindspots may not be detected or may no longerbe detected during the manoeuvre.Certain materials (fabrics) absorb soundwaves: pedestrians may not be detected.MaintenanceClean the bumpers and door mirrors andthe field of vision of the cameras regularly. When washing your vehicle at high pressure, direct the spray from at least 30 cm awayfrom the radar, sensors and cameras.Driving126
Mats/Pedal trimsThe use of mats or pedal trims notapproved by PEUGEOT may interfere withthe operation of the speed limiter or cruisecontrol. To avoid any risk of jamming the pedals:– Ensure that the mat is secured correctly.– Never fit one mat on top of another.Units of speedEnsure that the units of speed displayedon the instrument panel (mph or km/h) arethose for the country you are driving in.If this is not the case, when the vehicle isstationary, set the display to the required unitsof speed so that it complies with what isauthorised locally. In case of doubt, contact a PEUGEOT dealeror a qualified workshop.Legal ObligationsIn order to comply with European regulationsand for safety reasons, these functions cannotbe partially or totally deactivated by the driver :- Speed Limit Information in the Road signsrecognition system.- Active Safety Brake/Collision Risk Alert- Lane Keeping Assist- Driver Attention Warning- Parking sensors.Steering wheel withhands-on detection(with Drive Assist Plus 2.0)For more information, refer to the Generalrecommendations on the use of drivingand manoeuvring aids. The steering wheel is equipped with a hands-ondetection system to avoid distraction on the partof the driver. It is prohibited to cover or attach anything to thesteering wheel. The driver must always check thesurroundings of the vehicle and supervisethe whole manoeuvre.Any use of a system built into Drive AssistPlus 2.0 must remain under the driver’svigilance. The system also detects the presence ofhands when using the Lane Positioning assistsystem with Drive Assist Plus. The system may suffer interference or notwork correctly if:– the steering wheel is covered by someprotection.– the driver wears thick gloves (e.g. skigloves). In the event of improper detection of handson the steering wheel, Drive Assist Plus 2.0is not activated or is deactivated after a fewseconds.Installation of mechanical anti-theftdevices on the steering wheel is prohibited- risk of damage!Shortcuts for driving aidsThe full list of available driving aids can be foundin the Functions tab.Driving aids can be accessed directly to quicklyactivate/deactivate them.By default, driving aids are already stored in theShortcuts tab (e.g. Stop & Start, Lane keepingassist).Other driving aids can be added or deleted fromthis tab.It is configured in the ADAS>Func-tions touch screen application.Press the button corresponding tothe driving assistance concerned:• Full symbol: the function is added to theShortcuts tab.• Empty symbol: the function is deleted from theShortcuts tab.Check the modification in the Shortcuts tab.Driving1276

The message "OK?" isdisplayed to confirm the request to save.Press 5-OK again to save the suggestedspeed. The new speed setting value isdisplayed on the instrument panel.Temporarily exceeding thespeed settingFully depress the accelerator pedal. The speed limiter is temporarily deactivated andthe displayed speed setting flashes.Release the accelerator pedal to return tobelow the speed setting. When exceeding the speed is not due to thedriver's action (e.g. in case of a steep slope), anaudible signal is triggered immediately. On a steep descent or in the event of6 sharp acceleration, the speed limiterwill not be able to prevent the vehicle fromexceeding the speed setting. If necessary, apply the brakes to control yourvehicle’s speed. When the vehicle speed returns to the speedsetting level, the speed limiter operates again:the speed setting display becomes fixed again.OffPress 1-LIMIT: the speed limiter informationdisplay disappears.MalfunctionIn the event of a malfunction, dashes aredisplayed flashing and then fixed instead of thespeed setting.Have it checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or aqualified workshop.Driving1336
Cruise control - SpecificrecommendationsThe cruise control function does notguarantee compliance with the maximumauthorised speed and the safety distancebetween vehicles, the driver remainsresponsible for their driving. In the interest of public safety, only use cruisecontrol if the traffic conditions enable vehiclesto drive at a steady speed and maintain anadequate safety distance.Remain vigilant while cruise control isactivated. If you press and hold one ofthe speed setting modification buttons, yourvehicle may change speed very abruptly. When descending a steep hill, the cruisecontrol system cannot prevent the vehiclefrom exceeding the set speed. Brake ifnecessary to control the vehicle speed. On steep climbs or when towing, the setspeed may not be reached or maintained.Exceeding the programmed speedsettingYou can temporarily exceed the speedsetting by pressing the accelerator pedal (theprogrammed speed flashes). To return to the speed setting, release theaccelerator pedal (when the set speed isreached again, the displayed speed stopsflashing).Operating limitsNever use the system in the followingsituations:– In an urban area with the risk of pedestrianscrossing the road.– In heavy traffic (except versions with theStop & Go function).– On winding or steep roads.– On slippery or flooded roads.– In poor weather conditions.– In the event of restricted visibility for thedriver.– Driving on a speed circuit.– Driving on a rolling road.– When using a ‘space-saver’ type sparewheel.– When using snow chains or non-slip covers.Cruise controlFor more information, refer to the Generalrecommendations on the use of drivingand manoeuvring aids and the Specificrecommendations on cruise control. This system automatically maintainsthe vehicle’s speed at the value pro-grammed by the driver (speed set-ting), without the use of the accelera-tor pedal.Cruise control is switched on manually. It requires a minimum vehicle speed of 25 mph(40 km/h).With an automatic gearbox, mode D or secondgear or higher in mode M must be engaged. With a drive selector, mode Dor B must beengaged.Cruise control remains active afterchanging gear, regardless of the gearboxtype, on engines fitted with the Stop & Startfunction.Switching off the ignition cancels anyspeed setting.Steering-mounted controls1.Cruise control selection2.Switch on/Pause cruise control at thepreviously saved speed setting3.Increase the speed setting (if cruise controlactivated) Activation of cruise control inprogress (if cruise control deactivated)4.Decrease the speed setting (if cruisecontrol activated) Activation of cruisecontrol in progress (if cruise controldeactivated)Driving134

Operating limitsCruise control operates by day and night, in dryweather or moderate rainfall.Certain situations cannot be managed by thesystem and require driver intervention.Cases not taken into account by thesystem:– Pedestrians, cyclists, animals.– Stationary vehicles (e.g. traffic jams, breakdown).– Vehicles crossing your lane.– Vehicles driving in the opposite direction.Situations where the driver must suspendthe system:– Vehicles in a tight bend.– When approaching a roundabout.– When following a narrow vehicle.Reactivate the system when conditions allow.Situations in which the driver is promptedto immediately resume control:– Excessively sharp deceleration by the vehiclein front of you.– When a vehicle cuts in sharply between yourvehicle and the one in front. Some vehicles on the road may be poorlyperceived or interpreted by the cameraand/or the radar (e.g. truck), which can leadto an incorrect evaluation of distances andresult in inappropriate acceleration or brakingof the vehicle.Pay particular attention:– When motorcycles are present andwhen there are vehicles staggered across thetraffic lane.– When entering a tunnel or crossing abridge. If any of the following malfunctions occurs,do not use the system:– Following an impact on the windscreenclose to the camera or on the front bumper.– If a brake lamp is not working. If the vehicle has undergone any of thefollowing modifications, do not use thesystem:– Carrying long objects on roof bars.– Towing.– Front end of the vehicle modified (forexample by adding long-range headlamps orpainting the front bumper).– Obstructed radar and/or camera.MalfunctionIn the event of a malfunction, dashes aredisplayed (orange) instead of the speed setting. This warning lamp comes on, accom-panied by a message and an audiblesignal, to confirm the malfunction.Have it checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or aqualified workshop.Driving140
The system identifies the edges of the trafficlane and steers the vehicle to keep it inside thislane and maintain the lateral position chosen bythe driver. To do this, the system uses a camera placed onthe upper part of the windscreen. This system is particularly suited to driving onmotorways and main roads.Activation/DeactivationThe Lane positioning assist system isautomatically activated, after selecting the DriveAssist Plus mode. For more information on the Drive Assist Plussystem, refer to the corresponding section. The selection is confirmed by the display of thesymbols on the instrument panel, representingthe steering wheel and the side lines. The colour of the symbols depends on theoperating state of the system:(grey) One or more operating con-ditions is not met; the system ispaused.(green) All operating conditions aremet; the system is active.(orange) System malfunction. If the driver no longer wishes to use thesystem for some time, they can deactivate it bypressing the ASSIST button again (confirmedby the Driving aids area disappearing from theinstrument panel). The system status is saved when theignition is switched off.Operating conditions– Adaptive cruise control active.– ESC system operational.– ASR system activated.– No trailer detected.– No 'space-saver' spare wheel in use.– Vehicle not subject to strong lateralacceleration.– Direction indicators off upon activation of thesystem.RegulationThe driver must hold the steering wheelproperly. When regulation is activated, the symbols aredisplayed in green: with small steering inputs, the system steers the vehicle and keeps it in theposition chosen by the driver in the traffic lane. This position is not necessarily the centre of thelane. The driver can feel movements in the steeringwheel. At any time, the driver can change the position ofthe vehicle by intervening on the steering wheeland maintaining the position until the system hastaken it into account. If the chosen position is toooff-centre, an automatic re-centering manoeuvrecan occur. The system adjusts to the newlydefined position.Pausing/Suspending thesystemThe driver must act promptly if theybelieve that the traffic conditions or thestate of the road surface require theirintervention, by moving the steering wheel totemporarily suspend system operation. Anyaction on the brake pedal that causes theAdaptive cruise control system to be pausedwill also cause the system to be paused. If the system detects that the driver isnot holding the wheel firmly enough, ittriggers a series of gradual alerts and thendeactivates itself if there is no response fromthe driver. If the function is suspended due to theprolonged release of the force holdingthe steering wheel, the system must bereactivated by pressing the ASSIST buttonagain.Driving1416Lane positioning assistFor more information, refer to the Generalrecommendations on the use of drivingand manoeuvring aids.
142and the system will reactivate itself once theoperating conditions are met again.Paused by the driver– Travelling outside the lane limits.– Too tight a grip on the steering wheel ordynamic action on the steering wheel.– Action on the brake pedal (resulting in a pauseuntil cruise control is reactivated) or acceleratorpedal (suspension for as long as the pedal isdepressed).– Pausing of the Adaptive cruise control system.– Deactivation of the ASR system.DrivingAutomatic suspensionSuspension of the system is accompanied by aspecific audible signal.– Triggering of the ESC system.– Insufficient lane detection. The system may issue an alert when thevehicle is travelling on a long, straight roadwith smooth road surface even if the driverthinks they are holding the steering wheelcorrectly. The system may not operate or may produceunsuitable corrections to the steering in thefollowing situations:– Wearing thick gloves (with Drive Assist Plus2.0).– Poor visibility (insufficient road lighting, snowfall, rain, fog).– Dazzle (headlamps of an oncoming vehicle, low sun, reflections on a wet road surface, leaving a tunnel, alternating light and shade).– Windscreen area in front of the cameradirty, misted up, frost-covered, snow-covered,damaged or covered by a sticker.– Lane markings eroded, partially hidden (snow, mud) or multiple (roadworks, surface joints).– Travelling in a tight bend.– Winding roads.– Road surface repairs.Risk of undesirable operationThe system should be deactivated in thefollowing situations:– Driving with a "space-saver" type sparewheel.– When towing or with a bicycle carrierattached to a towing device, particularly whena trailer is not connected or the trailer is notan approved type.– Adverse weather conditions.– Driving on slippery road surfaces (risk ofaquaplaning, snow, ice).– In roadworks or toll booth areas.– Driving on racing circuits.– Driving on a rolling road.MalfunctionIn the event of a malfunction, the Service warning lampcomes on and this (orange)symbol appears on theinstrument panel, accompanied by the display ofa message and an audible signal.Have it checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or aqualified workshop.Semi-automatic lanechanging(with Drive Assist Plus 2.0)For more information, refer to the Generalrecommendations on the use of drivingand manoeuvring aids. This system assists the driver in changing lanes. To do this, it uses the camera located at the topof the windscreen, the radar located at the frontand the four angle radars fitted in the bumpers. The steering wheel is equipped witha hands-on detection system to avoiddistraction on the part of the driver. For more information on the Hands-ondetection, refer to the corresponding section. The system cannot in any circumstancesreplace the need for vigilance on thepart of the driver. The driver remainsresponsible for their driving by monitoringtheir surroundings and keeping their hands onthe steering wheel. The driver must act promptly if they believethat the traffic conditions or the state ofthe road surface require their intervention,by moving the steering wheel to temporarilysuspend system operation.Any intervention on the brake pedal or theaccelerator pedal that causes the adaptivecruise control to be paused or suspended willalso cause the system to deactivate.Selecting the systemTwo options: – Either when the vehicle is alreadydriving on an eligible road, the driver selects thesystem by activating the Drive Assist Plus 2.0system.– Or when the driver is already using DriveAssist Plus, the vehicle suggests selecting thesystem upon arriving at an eligible road bypressing the OK button.Driving144Operating limits
Activation/DeactivationActivate the direction indicator on the sidecorresponding to the lane change, whetheror not passing the resistance point of thelighting control stalk. The driver can regain control of the vehicle atany time:– by deactivating the direction indicator if thevehicle has not yet crossed the line.– by firmly holding the steering wheel.– by acting on the pedals. For more information on the Directionindicators, refer to the corresponding section.Operating conditions– Eligible roads: roads with separatecarriageways with prohibited access forpedestrians and cyclists.– The line separating the lanes must be clearenough to be identified by the system.– The position and speed of other vehicles mustenable the system to safely change lanes.– Drive Assist Plus 2.0 activated.– Lane positioning assist activated.– Vehicle speed between 40 and 112 mph (65and 180 km/h).Authorised lane changerequestWhen operating the direction indicator, if thenecessary conditions are met, the message"OK?" is displayed on the instrument panel. After checking the surroundings, press 2-OK to confirm the start of the lane changemanoeuvre. The message "Stay attentive" is displayed as areminder that the driver is still responsible for themanoeuvre. The system then proceeds with the vehicle’slane change.Once the manoeuvre has been carried out, thesystem is automatically deactivated and the lanepositioning assist takes over.If the direction indicator has been set beyond thepoint of resistance, the driver must pull it back. The driver must hold the steering wheelcorrectly. As soon as the semi-automatic lane changebegins, the system directs the vehicle to thetarget lane by small actions on the steering toposition it in the destination lane. You can feel the steering wheel moving.Interrupting the lane changeIt is possible that while changing lane, thenecessary conditions for the operation of thesystem may no longer be met.If this occurs before one of the wheels hascrossed the line separating the two lanes, the system automatically returns the vehicleto its original lane (confirmed by the displayof a manoeuvre cancellation message on theinstrument panel and an audible signal). Thesystem is then automatically deactivated. If this occurs when the lane change has started, the system prompts the driver to immediatelyretake control of the vehicle (confirmed by thedisplay of a message on the instrument paneland an audible signal), and the system isautomatically deactivated.Driving1456

Animals(especially animals smaller than 0.5 m) andobjects on the road are not necessarilydetected. This system includes three functions:– Collision Risk Alert.– Intelligent emergency braking assistance(iEBA).Driving148
– Active Safety Brake (automatic emergencybraking). The vehicle has a multifunction camera locatedat the top of the windscreen and, depending onversion, a radar located in the front bumper. This system does not replace the need fordriver vigilance. This system is designed to assist the driverand improve road safety. It is the driver's responsibility to continuouslymonitor traffic conditions in accordance withapplicable driving regulations. As soon as the system detects a potentialcollision, it prepares the braking circuit. This may cause a slight noise and a slightsensation of deceleration.Operating conditions andlimitsBrake system operational.ASR system activated.Seat belts fastened for all passengers.Stabilised speed on roads with no or lowcurvature. This warning lamp lights up on theinstrument panel without any addi-tional message, to indicate that theautomatic braking system is notavailable. This is a normal behavior indicating that acondition is not fulfilled and which does notrequest the support of a workshop. In any situations with ignition on whereautomatic braking presents a risk, deactivatingthe system via the driving aids touch screenapplication is recommended, for instance:– Carrying long objects on roof bars.– Using an automatic car wash.– Performing any maintenance (e.g. changing awheel, working inside the engine compartment).– Placing the vehicle on a rolling bench in aworkshop.– Towing the vehicle.– Following a damage of the windscreen close tothe detection camera. The system is automatically deactivated if:– A spare wheel with a too small diameteris detected.– A fault with the brake pedal switch or withthe right or left brake lamp is detected.– A fault in the sensors, in the electronic or inthe brake system is detected.– A trailer is detected by the equipped vehiclehitch (with an electrical connection plug).– A severe crash (e.g. with airbagdeployment) is detected. The system performance may be degraded ornot available by:– Sensor covered with snow, ice, slush, mud ordirt.– Windscreen damaged or smeared, with blurredview or covered with foreign items (e.g. stickers).– Damaged front bumper (or deformed inthe past) or covered with foreign items (e.g.stickers).– Front camera out of regular position or missingcover.– Brake discs cooling process is on-going.– In curves.– System initialization process after batterydisconnection.– Sun or lights shining into the front camera lens.– Adverse environmental conditions (e.g. rain, fog or snow).– Vehicle ahead creating road spray. The system performance may be affected by:– Vehicle stability system in progress.– Vehicle battery voltage out of range.– Wet road reflecting lights.– Close vehicles ahead.– Tractors, muddy vehicles or vehicles with atrailer.– Banked roads.– Winding or hilly roads.– Poor lighting conditions.– Sudden lighting changes.– Vehicle modifications (e.g. tyres). In case the detection is degraded ortemporarily unavailable by environmentconditions, then a driver indication is notdisplayed (because a driver action is notrequested).Driving1496
– Tractors, muddy vehicles or vehicles with atrailer.– Banked roads.– Winding or hilly roads.– Poor lighting conditions.– Sudden lighting changes.– Vehicle modifications (e.g. tyres). In case the detection is degraded ortemporarily unavailable by environmentconditions, then a driver indication is notdisplayed (because a driver action is notrequested). It can be dangerous to drive if the brakelamps are not in perfect working order. The driver must not overload the vehicle(keep within the GVW and GTW limits andload height limits for roof bars).Collision Risk AlertThis function warns the driver if there is a riskof collision with the preceding vehicle, or with apedestrian or cyclist.Modifying the alert trigger thresholdThe trigger threshold determines the sensitivitywith which the function warns of the risk ofcollision. In the ADAS touch screen ap-plication, select Functions>Au-tomatic Braking System.Select one of the 3 preset thresholds: "Far","Medium" or "Near".The selected threshold is memorised when theignition is switched off.OperationDepending on the collision risk detected by thesystem and the alert trigger threshold chosenby the driver, different levels of alert may betriggered and displayed on the instrument panel. The system takes into account the vehicledynamics, the difference speed of the ownvehicle and the object identified for the collisionrisk, and the operation of the vehicle (e.g.actions on the pedals, steering wheel) to triggerthe alert at the most relevant moment.(orange)Level 1: visual alert only, warningthat the preceding vehicle is veryclose. The message "Vehicle close" isdisplayed.(red)Level 2: visual and audible alert, warning that a collision is immi-nent.The message "Brake!" is dis-played.Level 3: a micro-braking may be given, confirming the risk of collision (optional). While approaching a vehicle too quickly, the level 2 alert may be displayed directly.Important: the level 1 alert depends on thetrigger threshold selected. It reacts only onmoving vehicles. It is disabled automaticallyat lower speed. It is possible that collision warnings arenot given, are given too late or seemunjustified. The driver must always stay in control of thevehicle and be prepared to react at any timeto avoid an accident. If you select "Far" in the touch screen, then the system warns sooner. Thisincreases the safety but increases also theamount of alerts, if the legal safety distance isnot kept.To reduce the alert occurrence, you canchange the setting to either of the other two.Intelligent emergencybraking assistance (iEBA)This function increases vehicle deceleration ifthe driver does not brake enough to avoid acollision. This assistance is only provided if the driverpresses the brake pedal.Driving150
Active Safety BrakeThis function, also called "automatic emergencybraking", intervenes after the acoustic alert if thedriver does not operate the brake pedal quicklyenough. The system aims at reducing the speed ofimpact or avoiding a collision if the driver failsto react.Below a speed of 30 mph (50 km/h),automatic emergency braking may slowdown the vehicle to a complete stop.Automatic emergency braking may reducethe speed by a maximum of 30 mph (50km/h) speed.OperationThe system operates subject to the followingconditions:– The vehicle's speed is between 5 mph and 50mph (8 km/h and 80 km/h) when a pedestrian, cyclist, or motorcyclist is detected.– The vehicle's speed is between 5 mph and 50mph (8 km/h and 80 km/h), when a stationaryvehicle or motorcyclist is detected.– The vehicle's speed is between 5 mph and87 mph (8 km/h and 140 km/h) when a movingvehicle is detected. This warning lamp flashes (for ap-proximately 10 seconds) as soonas the function applies the vehicle’sbrakes.During the flashing time, the function is notavailable. With an automatic gearbox or drive selector, inthe event of automatic emergency braking, keepthe brake pedal depressed, also after a completestop is reached, to prevent the vehicle fromrolling away. The driver can override the automaticemergency braking at any time bystrongly turning the steering wheel (evasivemanoeuver) and/or by firmly pressing theaccelerator pedal. The brake pedal may feel hard and vibrateslightly while the function is operating. If the vehicle comes to a complete stop, automatic braking is maintained for 1 to 2seconds.Turning scenariosCrossing road with another vehicleThe system may operate when the vehicle isturning and detects another vehicle, on theadjacent lane, approaching from the oppositedirection if:– The corresponding direction indicator isactivated.– Then the vehicle is about to cross the path ofanother vehicle.– The vehicle speed is between 5 and 15 mph (8and 25 km/h).– A collision on the side of the other vehicle isprobable. The system also takes into account motorcyclistsand may react accordingly.Driving1516
Crossing road with a pedestrianThe system may operate when the vehicle isturning left or right and detects a crossingpedestrian if:– The pedestrian is crossing in front of thevehicle.– The pedestrian can clearly be detected by thesensors.– The scenery is detectable by the sensors (e.g.brightness, contrast vs background).– The vehicle speed is between 5 and 15 mph (8and 25 km/h).The system also takes into account cyclists andmay react accordingly.Vehicle crossing the pathThe system may operate when a visible vehicleis crossing your path and if:– The visible vehicle is crossing your path andcan clearly be detected by the sensors.– The visible vehicle speed is below 40 mph (65km/h).– The vehicle speed is below 40 mph (65 km/h).Deactivation/ActivationBy default, the system is automatically activatedat every ignition cycle. It is configured in the ADAS touchscreen application.Deactivation of the system is signal-led by the illumination of this warninglamp, accompanied by the display ofa message in the instrument panel. The system cannot be deactivated above10 km/h.MalfunctionThis warning lamp lights up on theinstrument panel with the message"Audible Warning System fault:Repair needed" if the audible warn-ing system is in failure. The system may be disturbed or unavailable.Have it checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or aqualified workshop. This warning lamp lights up on theinstrument panel with the message"Driving Assistance Sensor blind:Clean sensor, see User Manual" ifthe sensor is masked. This is a normal behavior, which does notrequest the support of a qualified workshop. In this case, stop the vehicle and verify if thefront camera or the front radar is covered by dirt, mud, sand, snow, ice or anything preventing thesensing. The system is operational again after thedetection field has been cleaned. In the event of a malfunction, thiswarning lamp lights up on theinstrument panel, accompanied by thedisplay of a message and an audiblesignal.Have it checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or aqualified workshop. If these warning lampscome on after the enginehas been switched off andthen restarted, contact aPEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop tohave the system checked.Driving152
These warning lamps light upon the instrument panel toindicate that the driver's and/orfront passenger's seat beltis not fastened (depending on version). Theautomatic braking system is deactivated until theseat belts are fastened.Distraction detectionFor more information, refer to the Generalrecommendations on the use of drivingand manoeuvring aids. The function comprises the "Driver AttentionWarning" system combined with the "DriverAttention Warning by Camera" system. These systems are in no way designed tokeep the driver awake or to prevent thedriver from falling asleep at the wheel. It is the driver’s responsibility to stop if feelingtired.Take a break if you are feeling tired or at leastevery 2 hours. These systems reset themselves if one of thefollowing conditions is met: – The ignition hasbeen switched off for a few minutes.– The driver's seat belt is unfastened and theirdoor is opened.Driver Attention WarningThe system triggers an alert when itdetects that the driver has not takena break after two hours of driving at aspeed above 40 mph (65 km/h).This alert is issued via the display of amessage encouraging the driver to take a break, accompanied by an audible signal. If the driver does not follow this advice, the alertis repeated hourly until the vehicle is stopped. As soon as the speed of the vehicle dropsbelow 40 mph (65 km/h), the system goesinto standby.Driving time starts being counted again oncethe speed reaches above 40 mph (65 km/h).Driver Attention Warning byCameraThe system assesses the driver's levelof alertness, fatigue and distractionby identifying trajectory changes inrelation to the lane markings. To do this, the system uses a camera, placed onthe upper part of the windscreen. This system is particularly suited to fast roads(speed higher than 40 mph (65 km/h)).The system may perform a learningprocedure for up to 30 minutes after thestart of the monitoring.During this period, the driver's individualdriving behaviour is analysed and no alert isgiven. At a first alert level, the driver is warned bythe message "Caution!", accompanied by anaudible signal. After three first-level alerts, the system triggersa further alert with the message "Driving atrisk: Take a break", accompanied by a morepronounced audible signal. In certain driving conditions (poor roadsurface or strong winds), the system maygive alerts independent of the driver's level ofvigilance.Driving1536
The following situations may interfere withthe operation of the system or prevent itfrom working:– Lane positioning assist is active.– poor visibility (e.g. inadequate streetlighting, heavy rain, thick fog, snowfall).– dazzle (e.g. headlamps of an oncomingvehicle, low sun, reflections on a damp road, leaving a tunnel, alternating shade and light).– windscreen area located in front of thecamera (e.g. dirty, misted, frost-covered,snow-covered, damaged or masked by asticker).– lane markings absent, worn, hidden(e.g. snow, mud, dead leaves) or multiple(roadworks).– close to the vehicle ahead (lane markingsnot detected).– roads that are narrow, winding.Risk of undesirable operationThe system should be deactivated in thefollowing situations:– When a "space-saver" spare wheel is fitted.– When the vehicle is towed.– Driving on off-road.– Driving on racing circuits.Deactivation/ActivationDue to legal requirements, the system can onlybe deactivated in the vehicle personalizationuntil the next time the ignition is reactivated. The system is automatically activated by defaultevery time the engine is started. The settings are changed via theADAS touch screen application.orDirect access to the Shortcuts for driving aids.Deactivation is confirmed by the illu-mination of this indicator lamp on theinstrument panel.Driver Attention Warning by Camera/Safety modeIf the driver's drowsiness is detected, theLane keeping assist and Active Safety Brakesystems are automatically reactivated (if theyhave been deactivated by the driver in theADAS touch screen application) and theCollision Risk Alert function trigger thresholdis set to its most sensitive value. It is recommended to deactivate distractiondetection in the ADAS touch screenapplication in the same cases as those forwhich it is recommended to deactivate theLane keeping assist and Active Safety Brakesystems.MalfunctionThis warning lamp lights up on theinstrument panel with the message"Audible Warning System fault:Repair needed" if the audible warningsystem is in failure. The system may be disturbed or unavailable.Have it checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or aqualified workshop. In the event of a malfunction, thiswarning lamp lights up on theinstrument panel, accompanied by thedisplay of a message and an audiblesignal.Have it checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or aqualified workshop. This warning lamp lights up on theinstrument panel with the message"Driving Assistance Sensor blind:Clean sensor, see User Manual" ifthe sensor is masked. This is a normal behavior, which does notrequest the support of a qualified workshop. In this case, stop the vehicle and verify if thefront camera is covered by dirt, mud, sand, snow, ice or anything preventing the sensing. The system is operational again after thedetection field has been cleaned.Lane keeping assistDue to legal requirements, the systemcan only be deactivated in the vehiclepersonalization until the next time the ignitionis reactivated. The system is automaticallyactivated by default every time the engine isstarted. The system will inform the driver witha message and a chime if there is anongoing correction for more than 10s. If thedriver is still unable to keep the vehicle inthe lane, the correction interrupts after a shorttime.Driving154
For more information, refer to the Generalrecommendations on the use of drivingand manoeuvring aids.Depending on version, only lane departurewarning system is active, when a systemfault is present, a spare wheel used,Electronic Stability Control is not activated ore.g a trailer is attached. The system corrects the vehicle's trajectory byalerting the driver as soon as it detects a risk ofinvoluntary lane departure or crossing of a vergeor hard shoulder (depending on version). To do this, the system uses a camera, placed onthe upper part of the windscreen, identifying thelane markings on the ground and the side of theroad (depending on version). This system is particularly useful onmotorways and main roads.Operating conditions– Vehicle speed between 40 and 112 mph (65and 180 km/h).– Road marked with a central dividing line.– Steering wheel held with both hands.– Direction indicators off upon activation of thesystem.– ESC system activated and operational. The system helps the driver only if thereis a risk of the vehicle unintentionallywandering from the lane it is being driven in.It does not manage the safe driving distance, vehicle speed or braking. The driver must hold the steering wheel withboth hands so that they can maintain controlwhen the conditions no longer allow thesystem to intervene (e.g. in the event thatthe central dividing line marking on the roadsurface disappears).OperationOperation As soon as the system identifies a riskof involuntarily crossing one of the lane markingsdetected on the ground or a lane boundary (e.g.grass verge), it performs the trajectory correctionnecessary to restore the vehicle to its originallane. The driver will notice a turning movement ofthe steering wheel. This warning lamp flashes during tra-jectory correction. The driver can prevent the correction byfirmly holding the steering wheel (e.g.during an emergency manoeuvre). The correction is interrupted immediately ifthe direction indicators are operated. While the direction indicators are activated andfor a few seconds after switching them off, thesystem considers that a change of trajectory isintentional and no correction is triggered duringthis period.Driving1556
Driving situations and related alertsThe table below describes the alerts and messages displayed in different driving situations. The actual order of display of these alerts may be different.Function statusDisplayCommentsOFFFunction deactivated.ONNone.System active, conditions not met:– Speed below 40 mph (65 km/h).– No lane marking recognised.– ESC operation triggered.– Dynamic driving style.ONAutomatic deactivation/standby of the function (e.g. detection of a trailer, use of the"space-saver" type spare wheel supplied with the vehicle, failure).ONNone.Lane marking detected.Speed above 40 mph (65 km/h).ONThe system corrects the trajectory on the side where the risk of line crossing is detected. The driver's hands are on the steering wheel.ON"Hold the steering wheel" or "Stay in lane" (depending on version)If, while correcting the trajectory, the system determines that the correction will not beenough and that a solid line will be crossed: the driver is warned that they must provideadditional trajectory adjustment. If the steering wheel is not held properly, an audible warning sounds, accompanied by amessage, until the trajectory correction is completed or the driver has grasped the steeringwheel correctly. The duration of audible warnings will increase if multiple corrections are performed in quicksuccession. The warning will become continuous, persisting until the driver responds.Driving156
Operating limitsThe system goes into standby automatically inthe following cases:– ESC deactivated or operation triggered.– Speed below 40 mph (65 km/h) or greater than112 mph (180 km/h).– Electrical connection to a trailer.– Use of a "space-saver" spare wheel detected(as detection is not immediate, deactivation ofthe system is recommended).– Dynamic driving style detected, pressure onthe brake or accelerator pedal.– Driving over lane markings.– Activation of the direction indicators.– Crossing the inside line on a bend.– Driving on a tight bend.– Inactivity by the driver detected duringcorrection.– Narrow lane detected. The following situations may interfere withthe operation of the system or prevent itfrom working:– Insufficient contrast between the roadsurface and the verge or hard shoulder (e.g.shade).– Lane markings worn, hidden (e.g. snow, mud) or multiple (e.g. roadworks).– Close proximity to the vehicle in front (lanemarkings may not be detected).– Roads that are narrow, winding.Risk of undesirable operationThe system should be deactivated in thefollowing situations:– When changing a wheel or working near awheel.– Towing or with a bicycle carrier on a towingdevice, especially with trailer not plugged in ornot approved.– Road in poor condition, unstable or with verypoor grip (risk of aquaplaning, snow, ice).– Adverse weather conditions.– Driving on racing circuits.– Driving on a rolling road.Deactivation/ActivationBy default, the system is automatically activatedat every engine start. It is configured in the ADAS touchscreen application.orDirect access to the Shortcuts for driving aids.Deactivation is confirmed by the illu-mination of this indicator lamp on theinstrument panel.MalfunctionThis warning lamp lights up on theinstrument panel with the message"Audible Warning System fault:Repair needed" if the audible warningsystem is in failure. The system may be disturbed or unavailable.Have it checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or aqualified workshop. In the event of a malfunction, these warning lamps lightup on the instrument panel, accompanied by the display ofa message and an audible signal.Have it checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or aqualified workshop. The system is operational again after thedetection field has been cleaned.Lane Departure WarningDue to legal requirements, the systemcan only be deactivated in the vehiclepersonalization until the next time the ignitionis reactivated. The system is automaticallyactivated by default every time the engine isstarted. The lane departure warning system supports thedriver to avoid unintended leaving of the lane. The front camera observes road edges, as wellas the lane markings between which the vehicleis driving. If the vehicle crosses a road edge or alane marking, the system warns the driver.Driving1576
Unintended lane departure is not assumed bythe system when the turn lights are operated andduring few seconds after turn lights have beenswitched off.No warning will be issued with a dynamic driving,i.e. pressure on the brake or accelerator pedal orheavy steering. When the system recognises an un-intended lane departure, the controlindicator rapidly flashes yellow.Operating conditionsFor a correct operation of the system, thefollowing preconditions have to be fulfilled:vehicle speed must be between approx. 65km/h and 180 km/hthe turn lights are not activatedno dynamic driving, i.e. pressure on thebrake or accelerator pedallane boundaries can be clearly detected bythe systemthe vehicle is not driven in a tight cornerno system fault is present which preventscorrectionsActivation/DeactivationActivationIf the system is activated, the LED in the buttonis not illuminated. To activate the system, press the button.Depending on version, the system isautomatically reactivated at the next vehiclestart.DeactivationTo deactivate the system, press andhold . The LED in the button is illumi-nated and illuminates yellow in theinstrument panel.FaultThis symbol appears in the Driver In-formation Centre in the event of afault, accompanied by a display mes-sage and a warning chime. Seek theassistance of a workshop.Operation limitationsThe system performance may be affected by:covered camera by snow, ice, slush, mud, dirt, or affected by windscreen damage orforeign items, e.g. stickersclose vehicles aheadbanked roadswinding or hilly roadspoor lighting conditionssudden lighting changesshining sun directly into the camera lensadverse environmental conditions, e.g. heavyrain, fog, or snowvehicle modifications, e.g. tyresroads with poor lane markingsMalfunctionIf the event of a malfunction, thiswarning lamp appears in the instru-ment panel, accompanied by the dis-play message and an audible signal.Have it checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or aqualified workshop.Long-distance blind spotmonitoringFor more information, refer to the Generalrecommendations on the use of drivingand manoeuvring aids. This system warns the driver of vehiclesapproaching rapidly from the rear in adjacentlanes (up to around 75 m) and of the presence ofa vehicle in the blind spots of their vehicle, usingcorner radars located in the rear bumper.Driving158
This system takes into account vehiclessuch as cars, lorries and motorcycles bymonitoring the blind spots or areas hiddenfrom the driver's field of vision.A warning lamp appears in the door mirror onthe side in question:Fixed, immediately when another vehicle is inthe blind spot or is approaching in an adjacentlane.– Flashing, after about 1 second when thedirection indicator is used.Activation/DeactivationIt is configured in the ADAS touchscreen application. When starting the vehicle, the warning lampcomes on in each mirror to indicate that thesystem is activated. The system is automatically deactivatedwhen towing with a towing deviceapproved by PEUGEOT.Operating conditions– All vehicles are moving in the same directionand in adjacent lanes.– When overtaking a vehicle, the speeddifference is less than 9 mph (15 km/h).– Traffic is flowing normally.– Overtaking a vehicle over a certain period oftime and the vehicle being overtaken remains inthe blind spot.Operating limitsNo alert is triggered in the following conditions:– presence of stationary objects (e.g. parkedvehicles, safety rails, lampposts, signs).– vehicles travelling in the opposite direction.– if the rear bumper is damaged. It is possible that warnings are not given, are given too late or seem unjustified. This system does not replace the need forvigilance on the part of the driver. Alwayscheck in the mirrors and look over yourshoulders before changing lanes to avoid anaccident. In the event of repairing or repainting therear bumper, contact a PEUGEOT dealeror a qualified workshop; certain types ofpaint could interfere with the operation of theradars.MalfunctionIf the event of a malfunction, thiswarning lamp lights up on the instru-ment panel, accompanied by the dis-play of a message.Have it checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or aqualified workshop. The system may be temporarily disturbedby certain weather conditions (e.g. heavyrain, hail or extreme temperature changes). In particular, driving on a wet road or goingfrom a dry to a wet area can cause falsealerts (e.g. presence of a cloud of waterdroplets in the blind spot interpreted as avehicle). In bad or wintry weather, ensure that theradars are not covered by mud, ice or snow.Take care not to cover the warning zonein the door mirrors, or the detection zoneson the rear bumper, with adhesive labels orother objects; they may hamper the correctoperation of the system.Driving1596
This system detects and signals the proximity ofobstacles (e.g. pedestrian, vehicle, tree, barrier)using sensors located in the bumper.Rear parking sensorsSystem startup is available under the followingconditions:– when reverse gear is engaged.– when the vehicle is moving backwards (e.g.downhill, in neutral). It is indicated by an audible confirmation signaland a display indication. If an obstacle is detected as soon asthe reverse gear is engaged, an audibledetection signal is given directly instead of theaudible confirmation signal. If no audible signal is given, the displayindication is not shown or a warning messageappears, the system has a failure.Audible assistanceDepending on version, in the example shown, only the obstacles present in the shaded areawill be signalled by the audible assistance. The system signals the presence of obstacleswhich are both within the sensors’ detectionzone and in the vehicle path defined by thedirection of the steering wheel. The proximity information is given by anintermittent audible signal, the frequency ofwhich increases as the vehicle approaches theobstacle. When the distance between the vehicleand the obstacle becomes less than aboutthirty centimetres, the audible signal becomescontinuous. The sound emitted by the speaker (right orleft) indicates the side on which the obstacle islocated. The audible signal is automatically suspendedwhen the vehicle is stationary for a few seconds. The audible signal is automatically restoredwhen the vehicle is moving again or if theobstacle approaches the vehicle.Adjusting the audible detection signalPressing this button opens the window foradjusting the volume of the audiblesignal.Pressing this button mutes/unmutesthe audible signal.A message is displayed to indicatethat the audible signal is temporarilymuted.Visual assistanceThis supplements the audible signal, withouttaking account of the vehicle's trajectory, bydisplaying bars on the screen whose locationrepresents the distance between the obstacleand the vehicle (white: more distant, orange:close, red: very close). When the obstacle is very close, the "Danger"symbol is displayed on the screen.Closing the system display windowPressing this button closes the systemdisplay window. This warning lamp flashes during ob-stacle detection on the instrumentpanel.Driving160Parking sensorsFor more information, refer to the Generalrecommendations on the use of drivingand manoeuvring aids.
Muting the audible assistance / Closingthe visual assistanceIf the audible detection signal is muted orthe system display window is closed by thedriver during the obstacle detection, onlythe warning lamp continues to flash on theinstrument panel.Front parking sensorsSupplementing the rear parking sensors, thefront parking sensors are triggered when anobstacle is detected in front and the speed ofthe vehicle is below 6 mph (10 km/h).Front parking sensor operation is suspended ifthe vehicle stops for more than three seconds inforward gear, if an obstacle is no longer detectedor the vehicle speed exceeds 6 mph (10 km/h).The sound emitted by the speaker (frontor rear) locates the obstacle relative to thevehicle, whether in front of or behind it on itspath.Deactivation/Activation(Depending on country of sale)By default, the audible signal is automaticallyactivated at each backing movement of thevehicle. The system cannot bedeactivated. You can start the system manually inthe ADAS touch screen application. The rear parking sensors are deactivatedautomatically if a trailer or bicycle carrieris connected to a towing device installedin accordance with the Manufacturer'srecommendations. In this case, the outline of a trailer isdisplayed at the rear of the image of thevehicle. When starting the vehicle, the graphic andaudible aids are only available after thetouch screen has started up.Operating limitsIf the boot is heavily loaded, the vehicle may tilt, affecting distance measurements. In case of a gearbox failure, the system is notactive, when the reverse gear is engaged.MalfunctionIn case of display or speakers malfunction(e.g. frozen image, black screen), thesystem may be disturbed or unavailable. In the event of vehicle malfunction thatrequires the vehicle to be stopped, thesystem may be deactivated. In the event of a temporarymalfunction (e.g. untimely triggeringdue to external noise sources or otherinterferences), this warning lamp lightsup on the instrument panel, accompanied bythe display of a message and an audible signal(short beep). In the event of a permanent malfunction, thiswarning lamp lights up on the instrument panel, accompanied by the display of a message andan audible signal (long beep).Have it checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or aqualified workshop. This warning lamp lights up on theinstrument panel with the message"Parking Assistance Sensor blind:Clean sensor, see User Manual" ifthe sensor is masked. This is a normal behavior, which does notrequest the support of a qualified workshop. In this case, stop the vehicle and verify if thefront and/or rear sensors are covered by dirt, mud, sand, snow, ice or anything preventing thesensing. The system is operational again after thedetection field has been cleaned.Driving1616
