They may also come on ifrain is detected, at the same time as automaticoperation of the windscreen wipers.As soon as the brightness returns to a sufficientlevel or after the windscreen wipers are switchedoff, the lamps are switched off automatically.MalfunctionIn the event of a malfunction of therain/ sunshine sensor, the vehicle’slamps come on and this warning lampis displayed on the instrument panel,accompanied by an audible signal and/or thedisplay of a message.Have it checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or aqualified workshop.Do not cover the rain/sunshine sensorlocated at the top centre of the windscreenbehind the interior rear view mirror; theassociated functions would no longer becontrolled.In fog or snow, the rain/sunshine sensormay detect sufficient light. Lighting and visibility734The inner surface of the windscreen maybecome misted up and affect the properoperation of the rain/sunshine sensor.In humid and cold weather, demist thewindscreen regularly.Guide-me-home andwelcome lightingGuide-me-home lightingAutomaticWith the ring of the lighting control stalk in the"AUTO” position and when the light is poor, thedipped beam headlamps come on automaticallywhen the ignition is switched off.You can activate/deactivate and ad-just the duration of the guide-me-home lighting in the Settings > Vehi-cle touch screen application.ManualWith the ignition off, pull the lighting controlstalk toward you ("headlamp flash") toactivate/ deactivate the function.Manual guide-me-home lighting goes offautomatically after a period of time.Welcome lightingWhen the vehicle is unlocked in low lightconditions and the "Automatic illumination ofheadlamps" function is activated, this systemautomatically switches on:–On the outside, sidelamps, dipped beamheadlamps and door mirror spotlamps.–Inside, courtesy lamps and footwell lighting.Door mirror spotlampsThese spotlamps facilitate access to the vehicleby lighting the ground near the front doors.The spotlamps come on automatically:–when the vehicle is unlocked.–when a door is opened.–when a request to locate the vehicle isreceived from the remote control.They also come on with the welcome lightingand guide-me-home lighting functions.They go off automatically after 30 seconds.Automatic lightingsystems - GeneralrecommendationsThe automatic lighting systems use a detectioncamera, located at the top of the windscreen.Operating limitsThe system may be disrupted or not workcorrectly:–When visibility conditions are poor (e.g.snowfall, heavy rain).–If the windscreen is dirty, misted-up ormasked (e.g. sticker) in front of the camera.–If the vehicle is facing highly reflective signsor safety barrier reflectors.The system is not able to detect:–Road users that do not have their ownlighting, such as pedestrians.–Vehicles with hidden lighting (e.g. travellingbehind a safety barrier on the motorway).–Vehicles at the top or bottom of a steepslope, on winding roads, on crossroads.MaintenanceClean the windscreen regularly,particularly the area in front of the camera.The internal surface of the windscreen canalso become misted around the camera.In humid and cold weather, demist thewindscreen regularly.Do not allow snow to accumulate on thebonnet or roof of the vehicle as this couldobstruct the camera.
