Peugeot 3008 2024-2025 Eco-driving

Eco-drivingEco-driving refers to a range of everydaypractices that allow the motorist to optimisethe vehicle's energy consumption (fuel and/orelectricity) and CO2 emissions.Optimise your use of the gearboxWith an automatic gearbox, favour automaticmode. Do not depress the accelerator pedalheavily or suddenly. The gear shift indicator prompts you to engagethe most suitable gear. Whenever this indicationis displayed on the instrument panel, follow itstraight away. With an automatic gearbox, this indicatorappears only in manual mode.Drive smoothlyMaintain a safe distance between vehicles, useengine braking rather than the brake pedal andpress the accelerator gradually. These practiceshelp to save on energy consumption, reduceCO2 emissions and decrease general trafficnoise. With a hybrid engine, engine braking is moreefficient. Anticipate slowing down as much asyou can and, if possible, favour deceleration withengine braking in order to charge the tractionbattery, to increase all-electric driving and toreduce fuel consumption. When the traffic is flowing smoothly, select thecruise control.Control the use of electrical equipmentBefore moving off, if the passenger compartmentis too warm, ventilate it by opening the windowsand air vents before using the air conditioning. At speeds above 31 mph (50 km/h), close thewindows and leave the air vents open.Consider using equipment that can help keepthe temperature in the passenger compartmentdown.Unless automatically regulated, switch off the airconditioning as soon as the desired temperaturehas been reached.Switch off the demisting and defrostingfunctions, if they are not managed automatically.Switch off the heated seat and heated steeringwheel as soon as possible.Adapt your use of the headlamps and/orfoglamps to the level of visibility, in accordancewith current legislation in the country in whichyou are driving.Avoid running the engine before moving off, particularly in winter (other than in severewintry conditions: temperature below -23°C). Thevehicle will warm up much faster while driving. As a passenger, avoid connecting yourmultimedia devices (e.g. film, music, videogame) to help reduce the consumption ofenergy.Disconnect all portable devices before leavingthe vehicle.Limit the causes of excess consumptionSpread loads throughout the vehicle. Place theheaviest items in the boot as close as possible tothe rear seats.Limit the loads carried in the vehicle andminimise wind resistance (e.g. roof bars, roofrack, bicycle carrier, trailer). Preferably, use aroof box.Remove roof bars and roof racks after use.At the end of winter, remove snow tyres and refitsummer tyres.Comply with the servicing instructionsCheck tyre pressures regularly, with the tyrescold, referring to the label in the door apertureon the driver's side.Carry out this check in particular:– before a long journey.– at each change of season.– after a long period out of use.Do not forget the spare wheel and, whereapplicable, the tyres on your trailer or caravan.Have your vehicle serviced regularly (e.g. engineoil, oil filter, air filter, passenger compartmentfilter, etc.). Observe the schedule of operationsin the manufacturer's service schedule. When filling the fuel tank, do not continue afterthe third cut-out of the nozzle, to avoid overflow. You will only see the fuel consumption of yournew vehicle settle down to a consistent averageafter the first 1,900 miles (3,000 kilometres).Optimising the driving range of electrifiedvehiclesThe vehicle's consumption of electrical energygreatly depends on the route profile, speed anddriving style, as well as the use of the heating/airconditioning.Favour the ECO and CHARGE zones of thepower indicator by driving smoothly and at asteady speed.Hybrid vehiclesMaximise the vehicle's inertia by releasing theaccelerator pedal so that the vehicle slowsdown by itself (e.g. when driving downhill orapproaching a traffic light). When the accelerator pedal is released, provided that the slider on the power indicatorEco-driving9
in the instrument panel is still moving in theCHARGE zone, energy recovery is optimal.Energy recovery makes it possible to makeefficient use of the "passive" phases of driving(deceleration). The recovered energy is used to recharge thetraction battery and is then used for all-electricdriving or further acceleration. When the traction battery is almost full, theenergy recovery is gradually reduced.Rechargeable hybrid vehiclesConnect the vehicle as soon as possible.Anticipate slowing down as much as possibleand, if possible, favour decelerations with theregenerative braking function activated (powerindicator in the CHARGE zone). With the vehicle connected, carry outtemperature pre-conditioning before setting off.To optimise consumption during a journey:Program a destination into the vehicle’s GPSnavigation system.Select the Hybrid driving mode.Make sure that the battery charge level isclose to maximum.Avoid using the e-Save function.Use the heating/air conditioning systemwisely.Electric vehiclesAnticipate the need to slow down, and brakesmoothly, whenever possible using enginebraking with the regenerative braking function, which will move the power indicator into the"CHARGE" zone. The intensity of the regenerative braking levelcan be varied using the steering-mountedpaddles.Use the air conditioning rather than the heatingto demist the passenger compartment.Eco-driving10
