Peugeot 3008 2024-2025 Driving Parking sensors

This system detects and signals the proximity ofobstacles (e.g. pedestrian, vehicle, tree, barrier)using sensors located in the bumper.Rear parking sensorsSystem startup is available under the followingconditions:– when reverse gear is engaged.– when the vehicle is moving backwards (e.g.downhill, in neutral). It is indicated by an audible confirmation signaland a display indication. If an obstacle is detected as soon asthe reverse gear is engaged, an audibledetection signal is given directly instead of theaudible confirmation signal. If no audible signal is given, the displayindication is not shown or a warning messageappears, the system has a failure.Audible assistanceDepending on version, in the example shown, only the obstacles present in the shaded areawill be signalled by the audible assistance. The system signals the presence of obstacleswhich are both within the sensors’ detectionzone and in the vehicle path defined by thedirection of the steering wheel. The proximity information is given by anintermittent audible signal, the frequency ofwhich increases as the vehicle approaches theobstacle. When the distance between the vehicleand the obstacle becomes less than aboutthirty centimetres, the audible signal becomescontinuous. The sound emitted by the speaker (right orleft) indicates the side on which the obstacle islocated. The audible signal is automatically suspendedwhen the vehicle is stationary for a few seconds. The audible signal is automatically restoredwhen the vehicle is moving again or if theobstacle approaches the vehicle.Adjusting the audible detection signalPressing this button opens the window foradjusting the volume of the audiblesignal.Pressing this button mutes/unmutesthe audible signal.A message is displayed to indicatethat the audible signal is temporarilymuted.Visual assistanceThis supplements the audible signal, withouttaking account of the vehicle's trajectory, bydisplaying bars on the screen whose locationrepresents the distance between the obstacleand the vehicle (white: more distant, orange:close, red: very close). When the obstacle is very close, the "Danger"symbol is displayed on the screen.Closing the system display windowPressing this button closes the systemdisplay window. This warning lamp flashes during ob-stacle detection on the instrumentpanel.Driving160Parking sensorsFor more information, refer to the Generalrecommendations on the use of drivingand manoeuvring aids.
Muting the audible assistance / Closingthe visual assistanceIf the audible detection signal is muted orthe system display window is closed by thedriver during the obstacle detection, onlythe warning lamp continues to flash on theinstrument panel.Front parking sensorsSupplementing the rear parking sensors, thefront parking sensors are triggered when anobstacle is detected in front and the speed ofthe vehicle is below 6 mph (10 km/h).Front parking sensor operation is suspended ifthe vehicle stops for more than three seconds inforward gear, if an obstacle is no longer detectedor the vehicle speed exceeds 6 mph (10 km/h).The sound emitted by the speaker (frontor rear) locates the obstacle relative to thevehicle, whether in front of or behind it on itspath.Deactivation/Activation(Depending on country of sale)By default, the audible signal is automaticallyactivated at each backing movement of thevehicle. The system cannot bedeactivated. You can start the system manually inthe ADAS touch screen application. The rear parking sensors are deactivatedautomatically if a trailer or bicycle carrieris connected to a towing device installedin accordance with the Manufacturer'srecommendations. In this case, the outline of a trailer isdisplayed at the rear of the image of thevehicle. When starting the vehicle, the graphic andaudible aids are only available after thetouch screen has started up.Operating limitsIf the boot is heavily loaded, the vehicle may tilt, affecting distance measurements. In case of a gearbox failure, the system is notactive, when the reverse gear is engaged.MalfunctionIn case of display or speakers malfunction(e.g. frozen image, black screen), thesystem may be disturbed or unavailable. In the event of vehicle malfunction thatrequires the vehicle to be stopped, thesystem may be deactivated. In the event of a temporarymalfunction (e.g. untimely triggeringdue to external noise sources or otherinterferences), this warning lamp lightsup on the instrument panel, accompanied bythe display of a message and an audible signal(short beep). In the event of a permanent malfunction, thiswarning lamp lights up on the instrument panel, accompanied by the display of a message andan audible signal (long beep).Have it checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or aqualified workshop. This warning lamp lights up on theinstrument panel with the message"Parking Assistance Sensor blind:Clean sensor, see User Manual" ifthe sensor is masked. This is a normal behavior, which does notrequest the support of a qualified workshop. In this case, stop the vehicle and verify if thefront and/or rear sensors are covered by dirt, mud, sand, snow, ice or anything preventing thesensing. The system is operational again after thedetection field has been cleaned.Driving1616
