Peugeot 3008 2024-2025 Driving Electric dual-clutch automatic gearbox (e-DCS6/7)

The paddles on the steering wheel do not workand mode M is no longer accessible. You may feel a significant jolt on engagingreverse gear. This will not damage the gearbox.Selector malfunctionMinor malfunctionThis warning lamp comes on, accom-panied by the display of a messageand an audible signal.Drive carefully.Go to a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualifiedworkshop. In some cases, the selector indicator lamps mayno longer come on, but the gearbox state is stilldisplayed on the instrument panel.Major malfunctionThis warning lamp comes on, accom-panied by the display of a message. You must stop the vehicle.Stop as soon as it is safe to do so andswitch off the ignition.Contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualifiedworkshop.Electric dual-clutchautomatic gearbox (e-DCS6/7)6-speed or 7-speed electrified dual-clutchautomatic gearbox with push selector forrespectively hybrid vehicles or rechargeablehybrid vehicles. It also offers a manual modewith gear changes via control paddles locatedbehind the steering wheel. It includes the 48 Velectric motor, which improves the performanceof the petrol engine, reduces fuel consumptionand drives in all-electric.Push selectorFor hybrid vehiclesFor rechargeable hybrid vehiclesP.Auto ParkPress this button to switch to Parkingmode. For parking the vehicle: the front wheelsare blocked.R.ReverseN.NeutralTo free-wheel and move the vehicle, withthe ignition off.For more information on Free-wheeling,refer to the corresponding section.D.Driving in automatic modeThe gearbox manages gear changesaccording to the style of driving, the roadprofile and the vehicle load.M.Driving in manual mode (Hybrid)Press this button to switch to manualmode. The driver changes gear using thesteeringmounted controls.B.Driving in automatic modewith regenerative braking function(Rechargeable hybrid)Driving114
Press this button to activate theregenerative braking function. The gearbox also manages braking whenthe accelerator pedal is released. In mode N, with your foot on the brake pedal, push without passing the point of resistance:• Forwards, mode R is selected.• Backwards, mode D is selected.Release the selector fully after each push; itwill then return to its initial position.Special casesTo avoid mode N (quick change from D to R andback again):In mode R, push backwards past the point ofresistance, mode D is selected. In mode D, push forwards past the point ofresistance, mode R is selected. To return to mode N, push without passingthe point of resistance.Steering-mounted controls(Depending on equipment)In mode M or D, the steering-mounted controlpaddles can be used to change gear manually. They cannot be used to select neutral or toengage or disengage reverse gear.Pull the "+" or "-" paddle towards youand release to shift up or down a gear, respectively.Electric motorThe electric motor included in the automaticgearbox, which is used for the first start,provides12 V power supply via the DC/DC converter andprovides electric assistance to the petrol engine. The electric motor has the following features:– Provide an additional torque to the gearbox, optimising the performance of the petrol engine.– Recover the kinetic energy of the decelerationphases, converting it into electrical energy, whichcan be used for traction or for the power supplyof electrical accessories installed on the vehicle.– Recharge the 48 V traction battery when thestate of charge is too low.– Provide all-electric driving only. These features are achieved through thefollowing functions set of automatic operatingmode: – e-Boost.– e-Creeping.– e-Launch.– e-Queueing.– e-Parking.A manual operating mode is also availableto activate/deactivate the restart of the petrolengine while driving: the e-Auto mode. When mode P or N is selected on theautomatic gearbox, the noise level in theengine compartment may increase due to thestart of the charging phase of the tractionbattery: this is normal and does not representa malfunction.Information displayed onthe instrument panelWhen the ignition is switched on, the gearboxstatus is displayed on the instrument panel:P.ParkingR.ReverseN.NeutralD.Automatic forward gear (Hybrid)M1...6Manual forward gear (Hybrid)D1...7Automatic forward gear (Rechargeablehybrid)B1...7Automatic forward gear withregenerative braking function(Rechargeable hybrid)The gear engaged is also displayed in Sportmode. However, in all-electric driving, the gear engagedis not indicated. The state of the gearbox remains displayed onthe instrument panel for a few seconds afterswitching off the ignition.Driving1156
OperationOnly appropriate mode change instructions arevalidated. With the engine running, if it is necessary todepress the brake pedal to change modes,an alert message will be displayed on theinstrument panel. With the engine running and the brakesreleased, if R, D or M is selected, thevehicle moves off, even without pressing theaccelerator pedal.Never depress the accelerator and brakepedals at the same time - risk of damage tothe gearbox! If you open the driver's door while modeN is engaged, an audible signal will soundand mode P will be engaged. The audiblesignal stops when the driver's door is closed. At speeds below 3 mph (5 km/h), openingthe driver’s door will engage mode P - riskof sudden braking! In the event of battery failure, it is essentialto place the chock(s) supplied with the toolkit against one of the wheels to immobilisethe vehicle.Special aspects of automatic modeThese functions respond to common drivingsituations where the electric motor is availableto provide additional power or zero-emissiondriving.These functions are only available if thetraction battery is sufficiently charged. These five functions cannot be deactivated.e-LaunchWith the petrol engine off, this function allowsthe vehicle to run in electric mode withoutaffecting performance.By depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehiclestarts to drive as soon as the mode D or R of theautomatic gearbox is selected.e-CreepingWith the petrol engine off, by releasing the brakepedal, this function allows the vehicle to bemoved forward or backward in electric modewithout having to depress the accelerator pedal,as soon as the mode D or R of the automaticgearbox is selected.e-QueueingThis function makes it possible to follow aqueue of vehicles with several stops followedby restarts of the vehicle, using the e-Creeping,e-Launch and electric driving modes.e-ParkingThis function allows parking manoeuvres to becarried out at reduced speed with the help ofthe electric motor when the mode D or R of theautomatic gearbox is selected.e-BoostThis function allows simultaneous operationof the petrol engine and the electric motor, combined with the automatic gearbox.By fully depressing the accelerator pedal("kickdown" function), when the traction batteryis fully charged, it is possible to exceed thetorque of the petrol engine alone, thanks to theadditional torque provided by the electric motor.Repeated use of the brake pedal causesthe restart of petrol engine to providebraking assistance.Special aspects of manual modeThe gearbox only changes from one gear toanother if the vehicle speed and engine speedconditions permit. The petrol engine can also be switched off inmanual mode when stopped in traffic or whenthe accelerator pedal is released. For hybrid vehicles, the all-electric potential ofthe driving mode used (Normal or Eco) is alsoretained. For rechargeable hybrid vehicles, the all-electricpotential of the driving mode used (Hybrid orElectric) is also retained.Using the steering wheel paddles alsocauses the restarting of petrol engine. If high traction is required, the driver candeactivate the e-Auto mode using the touchscreen application.Regenerative braking (Brakefunction)The regenerative braking function emulatesengine braking, slowing the vehicle with no needto depress the brake pedal. When the driverDriving116
releases the accelerator pedal, the vehicle slowsdown more quickly. The energy recovered when the acceleratorpedal is released is used to partially rechargethe traction battery. This partial recharging has no effect on thecharge level indicator. The resulting deceleration of the vehicledoes not cause the brake lamps to comeon. From mode D, press button B to activate/deactivate the function.D on the instrument panel is replaced with B.The state of the function is not saved when theignition is switched off.In some situations (e.g. battery full, extreme temperatures), the amount ofregenerative braking may be temporarilylimited, resulting in less deceleration. The driver must remain alert to trafficconditions and must always be ready to usethe brake pedal.Regenerative braking using the brakepedalEnergy recovery can also be produced bydepressing the brake pedal in order topartially recharge the traction battery, withoutaffecting the charge level indicator.Starting the vehicleFully depress the brake pedal.Start the petrol engine by depressing thebrake pedal until the engine is running at astabilised engine speed. With your foot on the brake pedal, push onceor twice backwards to select automatic modeD, or forwards to shift into reverse gear R.Release the brake pedal.Accelerate gradually to automatically releasethe electric parking brake. The petrol engine may stop after the first start ifoperating conditions allow (e.g. state of chargeof the traction battery, external temperature, efficiency of the catalytic converter, torquedemand, selected driving mode, thermal comfortof the passenger compartment). Then, the vehicle moves off immediately inallelectric (e-Launch function).Switching the vehicle offRegardless of the current gearbox mode, modeP is immediately engaged automatically whenthe ignition is switched off. However, in mode N, mode P will be engagedafter a delay of 5 seconds (time to enablefreewheeling mode).Check that mode P has been engaged andthat the electric parking brake was appliedautomatically; if not, apply it manually. The corresponding indicator lampson the gear selector and the electricparking brake control must be on, aswell as the indicator lamps on the in-strument panel.Gearbox malfunctionThis warning lamp comes on, accom-panied by an audible signal and thedisplay of a message.Go to a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualifiedworkshop.Do not drive faster than 62 mph (100 km/h),keeping to the speed limit.Switching of the gearbox to back-up modeDepending on the malfunction, the gearbox onlyshifts in odd or even gears, locks in one gear orloses some gears. For hybrid vehicles, the paddles on the steeringwheel do not work and mode M is no longeraccessible. In some cases, the selector indicator lamps mayno longer come on, but the gearbox state is stilldisplayed on the instrument panel.Driving1176
