If the vehicle is fitted withan alarm, it will be reactivated automatically.DeadlockingDeadlocking renders the interior doorcontrols inoperative. AdviceRemote controlThe remote control is a sensitive,highfrequency device; avoid handling it inyour pocket, due to the risk of unintentionallyunlocking the vehicle.Avoid pressing the remote control buttonswhile out of range of the vehicle, due tothe risk of rendering the remote controlinoperative. It would then be necessary toreset it.Anti-theft protectionDo not modify the electronic vehicleimmobiliser, as this might result inmalfunctions.Locking the vehicleDriving with the doors locked could makeit more difficult for the emergency servicesto enter the passenger compartment in anemergency.As a safety precaution, remove the key fromthe ignition or take the electronic key with youwhen leaving the vehicle, even for a shorttime.Purchasing a second-hand vehicleHave the key codes memorised by aPEUGEOT dealer, to ensure that the keys inyour possession are the only ones able tostart the vehicle.Proximity Keyless Entryand StartThis is a Keyless Entry and Start system.It enables automatic vehicle locking/unlockingsimply by detecting the electronic key.As long as the driver has the electronic keyon their person, the vehicle unlocks as theyapproach and locks when they walk away.Key recognition zones:Zone A: welcome lighting on approaching thevehicle (between 2 and 5 metres from thevehicle).Zone B: automatic locking on moving away fromthe vehicle (about 2 metres from the vehicle).Zone C: automatic unlocking on approachingthe vehicle (between 1 and 2 metres from thevehicle).Automatic functions are configured inthe Settings > Vehicle touch screenapplication.Unlocking the vehicleSelective unlocking (driver’s door,boot) is configured in the Settings >Vehicle touch screen application.Complete unlockingThe vehicle (doors and boot) unlocks:Either automatically as the driver approachesin zone C, if the automatic functions areactivated.Or by gently pressing the driver's door handleor the button on the boot.Unlocking, and alarm deactivation (dependingon version), is confirmed by the flashing of thedirection indicators and lighting of the daytimerunning lamps.Depending on version, the door mirrors unfold.Access32

Motorised tailgateAfter closing completely, the vehicle willlock automatically even if the electronic keyis outside the recognition areas.Automatic folding/unfolding of the doormirrors is configured in the touch screen.For more information on Mirrors, refer to thecorresponding section.As a safety measure, never leave thevehicle, even for a short time, withouttaking the Keyless Entry and Start system’selectronic key with you.Be aware of the risk of theft of the vehicle ifthe key is present in one of the defined areaswhile the vehicle is unlocked.In order to preserve the battery in theelectronic key and the vehicle's battery:– The unlocking on approach function (zoneC) automatically switches to hibernationmode after several days (approximately oneweek) without being used. To unlock thevehicle, use the remote control or press onthe driver’s door handle. The next time thevehicle is started, the automatic unlockingand locking functions will be reactivated.– If the welcome lighting is triggeredseveral times in succession without thevehicle subsequently being started, it will bedeactivated.– All "hands-free" functions switch tohibernation mode after 21 days without beingused. To restore these functions, unlock thevehicle using the remote control and start theengine. The door mirrors unfold only whenthe ignition is switched on.Electrical interferenceThe electronic key may not work if it isclose to an electronic device (e.g. mobiletelephone (switched on or on standby), laptopcomputer, strong magnetic fields). If thisoccurs, move the electronic key away fromthe electronic device.Central lockingManualPress this button to lock/unlock the vehicle(doors and boot) from inside the passengercompartment.The indicator lamp comes on to confirm thecentral locking of the vehicle.Central locking does not take place if anyof the doors are open.When locking/deadlocking from theoutsideWhen the vehicle is locked or deadlockedfrom the outside, the indicator lamp flashesand the button is deactivated.After normal locking, pull one of theinterior door controls to unlock the vehicle.After deadlocking, you must use theremote control, the "Keyless Entry andStart" system or the built-in key to unlockthe vehicle.Access34
Automatic (anti-intrusionsecurity)The doors and boot lock automatically whiledriving (speed above 6 mph (10 km/h)).To deactivate/reactivate this function (activatedby default):Press the button until a confirmationmessage appears.Transporting long or voluminousobjectsPress the central locking control to drive withthe boot open and the doors locked.Otherwise, every time the speed of thevehicle exceeds 6 mph (10 km/h), the soundof the locks rebounding will be heard and analert will be displayed.Back-up proceduresLost keys, remote control,electronic keyGo to a PEUGEOT dealer with thevehicle's registration certificate, your personalidentification documents and if possible, thelabel bearing the key code.The PEUGEOT dealer will be able to retrieve thekey code and the transponder code, enabling anew key to be ordered.Complete unlocking/lockingof the vehicle with the keyUse this procedure in the following situations:– Remote control battery discharged.– Remote control malfunction.– Vehicle battery discharged.– Vehicle in an area subject to strongelectromagnetic interference.In the first case, change the remote controlbattery.In the second case, reinitialise the remotecontrol.Refer to the corresponding sections.Insert the key in the notch of the lock coverand remove the lock cover.Insert the key into the door lock.Turn the key towards the front or the rear tounlock or lock the vehicle.If the vehicle is fitted with an alarm, it willnot be activated when locking with the key.If the alarm is activated, the siren soundswhen the door is opened; switch on theignition to stop it.Central locking notfunctioningUse these procedures in the following cases:– Central locking malfunction.– Battery disconnected or discharged.In the event of a malfunction of thecentral locking system, the battery mustbe disconnected to ensure that the vehicle islocked fully.Front left-hand doorInsert the key into the lock and turn it towardsthe front or rear of the vehicle to lock orunlock the door.Other doorsUnlockingPull the interior door opening control.LockingOpen the doors.Access352
For the rear doors, check that the child lock isnot on.Refer to the corresponding section.Gently insert the key into the latch located inthe door lock, then turn the latch an eighth ofa turn towards the outside of the door.Close the doors and check from the outsidethat the vehicle is locked.Changing the batteryA message is displayed on the instrument panelwhen the battery needs changing.Battery type: CR2032/3 volts.Unclip the cover by inserting a smallscrewdriver in the slot and lift the cover.Remove the flat battery from its housing.Put the new battery in place, respecting thepolarity. Start by inserting it into the contactslocated in the corner, then clip the cover ontothe unit.Reinitialise the remote control.For more information on Reinitialising theremote control, refer to the correspondingsection.Do not throw remote control batteriesaway, as they contain metals that areharmful to the environment. Take them to anapproved disposal point.This equipment contains a button typebattery.Do not swallow the battery. Risk of chemicalburns! Swallowing the battery can causeserious internal burning in only 2 hours andcan be fatal.If batteries have been swallowed or insertedinto a part of the body, seek immediatemedical advice.Keep new and used batteries out of the reachof children.If the battery compartment does not closeproperly, stop using the product and keep itout of the reach of children.Risk of explosion if the battery is replacedwith an incorrect type! Replace the batterywith the same type.Risk of explosion or leaking of inflammableliquid or gas!Do not use in/store in/place in an environmentwhere the temperature is extremely high orwhere the pressure is extremely low due tovery high altitude.Do not try to burn, crush or cut a used battery.Reinitialising the remotecontrolFollowing replacement of the battery or inthe event of a fault, it may be necessary toreinitialise the remote control.Insert the mechanical key (incorporated intothe remote control) into the lock to open thevehicle.Place the electronic key against the back-upreader on the steering column and hold itthere until the ignition is switched on.With an automatic gearbox or driveselector, while in mode P, depress the brakepedal.Switch on the ignition by pressing theSTART/STOP button.If the fault persists after reinitialisation, contacta PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshopwithout delay.Access36
OpeningFrom outsideAfter unlocking the vehicle or with the"Keyless Entry and Start" system electronickey in the recognition zone, pull the doorhandle.From insidePull the interior opening control of a door; thisunlocks the vehicle completely.With selective unlocking activated:– Opening the driver's door unlocks thedriver's door only (if the vehicle has notalready been completely unlocked).– Opening one of the passenger doorsunlocks the rest of the vehicle.BootOpening the tailgateWith the vehicle unlocked or with theelectronic key in the recognition zone, pressthe central tailgate control.Raise the tailgate.When selective unlocking is activated, theelectronic key must be close to the rear ofthe vehicle.Check that there is enough space to allowfor the movement of the tailgate.The tailgate is not designed to hold a bicyclecarrier.Closing the tailgateLower the tailgate using the interior grips.Release the grips and press down on theoutside of the tailgate to close it.In the event of a malfunction or if youexperience difficulty opening or closing thetailgate, have it checked by a PEUGEOTdealer or a qualified workshop without delay,to avoid the issue deteriorating and preventany risk of the tailgate dropping, potentiallycausing serious injury.Back-up releaseTo manually unlock the boot in the event of abattery or central locking failure.UnlockingFold the rear seats to gain access to the lockfrom inside the boot.Insert a small screwdriver into hole A of thelock to unlock the boot.Move the latch to the left.Locking after closingIf the fault persists after closing again, the bootwill remain locked.Motorised tailgate(Depending on version)The motorised tailgate must only be operatedwith the vehicle stationary.Check that there is enough space toallow for the movement of the motorisedtailgate.Access372Doors

Raise the footsufficiently and remove it immediately.Acknowledgement of the "kicking" movementis confirmed by the lighting of the directionindicators."Sideward kicking" movements do notwork. If the "kicking" movement has notbeen detected, wait at least 2 seconds beforerepeating the movement.Do not perform repetitive "kicking"movements.If the motorised tailgate has not started to openor close, check that:– the function is activated.– the electronic key is on your person, outsidethe vehicle in the rear recognition area.– the "kicking" movement was performed in thedetection zone, close enough to the bumper.– the foot was removed from the bumper quicklyenough.When the vehicle is locked, the request toopen the tailgate with this function unlocksthe vehicle, or only the tailgate if selectiveunlocking is activated, prior to the opening ofthe tailgate.Closing the tailgate with the "Hands-FreeTailgate Access" function enables you to lockthe vehicle.Recommendations on the hands-freefunction (Hands-Free Tailgate Access)If it does not work, check that the electronic keyis not exposed to a source of electromagneticinterference (e.g. smartphone).The function may be deactivated or affected ifthere is rain or snow.The function may not work correctly with a 2prosthetic leg.Access392
In some circumstances, the tailgate may open orclose by itself, particularly when:– hitching up or removing a trailer.– operating a towing device.– fitting or removing a bicycle carrier.– loading or unloading bicycles on/from a bicyclecarrier.– depositing or lifting something behind thevehicle.– an animal approaches the rear bumper.– washing the vehicle.– maintenance is performed on the vehicle.– accessing the spare wheel.To avoid such operating problems, keep theelectronic key away from the recognition zoneor deactivate the hands-free function.Towing deviceThe installation of a towing device maydisturb the detection system.Perform the "kicking" movement on theright side of the towing device.Memorising an openingpositionTo limit the opening angle of the motorisedtailgate:move the tailgate to the desired positionmanually or by pressing the button.press button C or the exterior control Bfor more than 3 seconds (memorisation isconfirmed by a brief audible signal).A new memorisation operation cancels theprevious one.Memorising is not available until the heightof opening is more than or equal to 1metre between the low position and the highposition of the tailgate.Manual operationThe tailgate can be manoeuvred by hand, evenwith motorised operation activated.The tailgate must be stationary.With resumption of the motorised functionThe motorised tailgate function can be activatedmanually.With the boot open: vigorously move thetailgate a little in the closing direction toactivate motorised closing.With the boot partly open: vigorously movethe tailgate a little in the opening direction toactivate motorised opening.Without resumption of the motorisedfunctionMove the tailgate as slowly and smoothly aspossible.Assistance from the gas struts is no longeravailable when opening and closing themotorised tailgate manually. Resistance toopening and closing is therefore quite normal.In case of the motor overheatingRepeatedly opening and closing themotorised tailgate can cause overheating ofits electric motor, after which opening andclosing will not be possible.Allow at least 10 minutes for the electricmotor to cool down before operating thetailgate again.If you are unable to wait, operate it manually.Manual closing of themotorised tailgate in case offailureThis operation is only necessary in the case offailure or deinitialisation/loss of the tailgatemotor.If the failure originates from the battery, it isrecommended to recharge it or change it withthe tailgate closed.In this situation, a significant force may beneeded to close the tailgate.Close it gently without slamming, as slowlyas possible, by pushing at the centre of thetailgate.Do not lower the tailgate by pushing at oneof its sides - risk of damage!In wintry conditionsTo avoid any operating problems, removethe snow or wait until the ice melts beforerequesting motorised opening of the tailgate.Access40

Opening/ClosingTo open the sunroof or the blind, use the partof the button located towards the rear.To close the sunroof or the blind, use the partof the button located towards the front.Operation of buttonsPressing a button beyond its point ofresistance directly opens or closes thesunroof or blind fully.Pressing the button again stops the currentmovement.When holding a button (without going beyondthe point of resistance), the movement of thesunroof or blind stops when this button isreleased.When the sunroof is closed: pressing oncewithout passing the point of resistance movesit to a partially open position.The sunroof and windows, then the blind,can be closed by holding down the doorlocking control. The manoeuvre stops bypressing the locking control a second time.Closing of the blind is limited by theposition of the sunroof: the blind cannot gofurther than the front of the movable glass.During simultaneous movements of thesunroof and blind, the blind automaticallystops or resumes movement depending onthe position of the sunroof.ReinitialisationFollowing reconnection of the battery or in theevent of a fault or jerky movement of the sunroofor blind, reinitialisation is required.Check that nothing is interfering with thesunroof or blind and that the seals are clean.With the ignition on, fully close the sunroofand blind.Press and hold the front part of button B, untilthe sunroof and blind move slightly, then holdfor a further 1 second before releasing.Wait 2 seconds and then press and holdthe front part of button B. The blind andthe sunroof will open and close, one afterthe other.
