i!44KEYS Central locking and unlocking From the front doors, the keys allow you to lock and unlock the doors and boot. If one of the doors is open, the central locking does not work. If the boot is open, the central locking works. Remote control This carries out the same functions as the key, from a distance. Locking Press button A to lock the vehicle. This is confi rmed by fi xed lighting of the direction indicators for approximately two seconds. Unlocking Press button B to unlock the vehicle. The remote control does not operate when the key is in the ignition, even when the ignition is switched off, except for reinitialisation. Locking the vehicle Driving with the doors locked may make access to the passenger compartment by the emergency services more diffi cult in an emergency. Anti-theft protection Do not make any modifi cations to the electronic engine immobiliser system, this could cause malfunctions. Lost keys Visit a PEUGEOT dealer with the vehicle's V5 registration certifi cate and your personal identifi cation documents. It is advisable to press the clutch pedal whle operating the starter to facilitate the starting of the engine. ELECTRONIC ENGINE IMMOBILISER This locks the engine management sys-tem as soon as the ignition has been switched off and therefore prevents starting of the vehicle by anyone who does not have the key. The ignition key has an electronic chip which has a special code. When the ig-nition is switched on, the code must be recognised for starting to be possible. If the system does not function cor-rectly, the central locking button in-dicator lamp, situated on the centre console, fl ashes rapidly when the igni-tion is switched on (2nd notch). In this case your vehicle will not start. Contact a PEUGEOT dealer as soon as possible. Key in ignition If the key is left in the ignition, this is indicated by an audible signal when the driver's door is opened. Locating your vehicle To locate your vehicle, if you have locked it, in a car park: press button A , the courtesy lamps come on and the direction indicators fl ash for a few seconds. Changing the remote control battery Battery ref.: CR2016/3 volts. If the remote control battery is fl at, you are warned by a message on display B. To replace the battery, remove the screw then unclip the casing using a coin at the ring. If the remote control does not work after the battery has been changed, repro-gramme the remote control. Reinitialising the remote control Switch off the ignition. Switch the ignition on again. Press button A immediately for a few seconds. Switch off the ignition and remove the remote control key from the igni-tion lock. The remote control is now working again.

One-touch electric windows There are two methods of operation: - manual mode Press or pull the switch gently. The window stops as soon as the switch is released. - automatic mode Press or pull the switch fully. The window opens or closes complete-ly when the switch is released. Pressing the switch again stops the movement of the window. REAR QUARTER WINDOWS On the 3-door versions, system for ven-tilation of the rear seats limiting the par-tial opening of the window. Opening Tilt the lever outwards. Push the window to open it. Closing Pull the lever to close the window. Tilt the lever fully inwards to secure the window in the closed position. 1.Driver's electric window switch.2.Passenger's electric window switch. The electric window switches re-main operational for approximately 45 seconds after the ignition is switched off or until a front door is opened.
48DOORS Opening the doors from outside Opening the doors from inside "Door open" warning With the engine running , you are warned if a door is not shut properly by an audible signal. When the vehicle is moving , if the courtesy lamp button is in the "lighting on opening a door" position, the cour-tesy lamp fl ashes, accompanied by an audible signal. Locking/Unlocking from the inside Automatic central locking of the doors. Pressing button A permits locking/un-locking of the doors. To switch on Press and hold button A . Activation of the function is accompa-nied by an audible signal. To switch off Press and hold button A . Notes: if one of the doors is open, lock-ing from the inside and automatic cen-tral locking are not possible. If the boot is open, automatic central locking of the doors is active. The doors can lock automatically when you are driving (at a speed of more than 6 mph (10 km/h)). Above 6 mph (10 km/h), press button Abriefl y to unlock the doors temporarily. You can activate or deactivate this func-tion.
4949CHILD LOCK On each rear door, this prevents open-ing of the door from the inside. Turn control 1 an eighth turn (45 de-grees) towards the inside of the vehicle using the ignition key. Check that the safety lock is engaged correctly. The control 1 should no longer be in the vertical position. LOCKING/UNLOCKING THE BOOT Locking and unlocking of the boot is simultaneous with the doors. To open the boot, press the control A . The lighting is controlled by opening the boot. Tailgate release System for mechanical unlocking of the boot in the event of a central locking malfunction. Unlocking Fold back the rear seats to gain access to the lock from inside the boot. Pull the tailgate trim to detach it. Pull the opening control 1 upwards.
50FUEL TANK Reservoir which should be refi lled with fuel, when the minimum level has been detected. Fuel tank capacity: approximately 50 litres. Filling A label affi xed to the inside of the tank reminds you of the type of fuel to be used depending on your engine. More than 5 litres of fuel must be add-ed in order to be registered by the fuel gauge. The key cannot be removed from the lock until the fi ller cap is refi tted. Opening the cap may release a vacu-um, indicated by a noise. This is caused by the sealing of the fuel system. To fi ll the tank safely: the engine must be switched off, insert the key in the fi ller cap, then turn it to the left, remove the fi ller cap, fi ll the tank, but do not continue after the 3rd cut-off of the pump ; this could cause malfunctions. When you have fi lled the tank: refi t the fi ller cap, turn the key to the right, then remove it from the fi ller cap.
5151 Quality of the fuel used for petrol engines The petrol engines are perfectly com-patible with E10 type petrol biofuels (containing 10 % ethanol), conforming to European standards EN 228 and EN 15376. E85 type fuels (containing up to 85 % ethanol) are reserved exclusively for vehicles marketed for the use of this type of fuel (BioFlex vehicles). The quality of the ethanol must comply with European standard EN 15293. For Brazil only, special vehicles are marketed to run on fuels containing up to 100 % ethanol (E100 type). Quality of the fuel used for Diesel engines The Diesel engines are perfectly com-patible with biofuels which conform to current and future European standards (Diesel fuel which complies with stan-dard EN 590 mixed with a biofuel which complies with standard EN 14214) available at the pumps (containing up to 7 % Fatty Acid Methyl Ester). The B30 biofuel can be used in cer-tain Diesel engines; however, this use is subject to strict application of the special servicing conditions. Consult a PEUGEOT dealer. The use of any other type of (bio)fuel (vegetable or animal oils, pure or dilut-ed, domestic fuel...) is strictly prohibited (risk of damage to the engine and fuel system).
